I'm surprised that the main weekend tickets haven't sold out yet tbh, 2013 they were gone by mid-July time...

They haven't sold out quickly for quite a while.

Back in years like '08 they sold out within an hour or so! The only festival that seems to have kept up its demand is glasto.

In other news - I checked the gazebo - I'm missing 2 leg poles and there's a tear in the top, to it's probably not usable.

Oh well! appreciate the thought though :)

Either people don't like the line up or can't afford it (as the prices go up every year). Although I believe you can buy it at the same price as last year on a time limited basis.

I suppose Reading is no longer out there to appeal to a single audience, times have changed and music has changed.

Rock is no longer the powerhouse it used to be, electronic stuff like DnB, House etc. and your alternative electronic stuff along with Rap, Grime and Hip Hop have taken over.

It'll make a comeback soon enough though

Unless I'm there really late (catching the end of a set after another one) i'll always go as close as possible. Normally I'm up there on my own though as my normal group don't like going in the crowd!

I may rethink the train and get a car park pass instead - there's a tube strike on weds/thurs next week.

Nice one, are you coming from London then by any chance?

Yeah, I'm coming from London (Normally get the train from Paddington). May have to drive now though as getting to paddington will be hard. Wish these bloody train unions would do one. There's a tube strike on wednesday/thursday and the main line from Reading has a strike on the Monday coming home. Right pain in the arse.

I don't feel like reading through 22 pages of forum posts.  Where are all of the loners going to be camping this year?  Looking for some people who're wanting to see bands like Royal Blood, All Time Low, Panic at the Disco!, Against Me, New Found Glory.....

They're all on my list ;). Orange E is the plan I believe?

I'm making my way to the front during bands sets before the bands I want to see. Missing nothing for anyone :P so I agree.

A headcount would be good/interesting!

Glad to hear we're all have pretty similar ideas about what we're doing in the crowds then!

Too right about the unions, I work in Mayfair and everytime they strike its been a fucking nightmare, and THEN I learn they're gonna strike on the day I leave for Reading  :fuckyou:  :fuckyou:

If you're coming on the Wednesday could I ask a massive favor and ask if you could give me a lift? Obviously I'd split the petrol and the parking price! It would save me having to pay sky high prices for a coach/train ticket the day before Reading (having to book it then due to getting paid etc.)

Orange E is the place to be ;)

If I end up going (still haven't purchased my ticket) I likely wont arrive until Thursday afternoon/evening.  Will anyone be trying to save spots at camp for us late arrivals?

Also, if anyone is traveling from the Northampton area, I'm more than happy to give a lift - no sense in driving down with empty seats in the car.

Depends if I can get hold of that EE ticket - should find out soon! Where in London are you based? If I drive I'll probably take the 406 (in early morning during a tube strike central will be hell!).

I'm hoping they call the train strikes off though. If there's strikes on bank holiday Monday, traffic will be absolute hell, and if it's raining during the weekend, there's every chance my car will get stuck in the mud (it's no range rover lol).
