Deposit Refunds

Quick question on refunds of deposits, if anyone knows the answer it would be greatly appreciated. Are refunded deposits for unpaid balances automated into the bank account that of the deposit payer or is each individual emailed to action this?

I ask as I booked and paid for deposits for a group of six, and a few people are now no longer able to attend so won't be paying of there balances. Does anyone here know how this procedure works? I know that they will only recieve £35 back, but I would like to know if it's automated back to the original payer or not.
