I have reached peak hatred for all of the Radio 1 shower, Nick Grimshaw, Fearne Cotton, Annie Mac, Jo Wiley, Zane Lowe etc, I don't consider any of them human.

Lauren Laverne tho, she is the finest broadcaster of our time, I love that woman.

I reserve a special level of hatred for Greg James, largely due to the baffling levels of excitement caused every time he's on the UEA campus. Despite the fact he appears to be there pretty much every week, for no reason.

But then he is almost certainly the person who suggested Norwich for Big Weekend in the first place, so maybe I have to give him that.

Watched this on iPlayer yesterday. It's the exact same thing every episode.

They sign a contract saying that they can't do drugs.

I genuinely don't know why any parent would put themselves through this show. They are just weird.

I watch it thinking it'll be an interesting insight into different festivals but it's the same stuff each show.

Your right espically if your son comes across as an utter little prick like that kid did.

If my mum ever watched footage of me at festivals she'd probably chuckle, she was under no illusions of how I party and I know I've very tried to start pointless fights or treated girls like its the Middle Ages!

An 18+ edition with drugs 5am conversations would be a better conversation.

Nick Grimshaw is one of the most irritating human being on the planet. He's like a cockroach - you just can't get rid of him.

The whole Radio 1 cheerleader act last weekend was painful to watch.

Grimmy has said on Radio 1 that when he was at school he wad doing a radio show for the kids at school...

Well none of my mates who went to our lady's had heard it. We are all his age.

Fuck knows where that accent is from either as it isn't an Oldham accent.

I know quite a few that knew him as a kid.. wasn't into music much then. Just a quiet kid who kept himself to himself.

Don't lump Annie Mac in with that shower of shite. She's better than that.

I'm going to assume that whoever has replaced them wouldn't be for me either. Is Huw Stevens still there? That little shit. Fearne Cotton is definitely the worst though, I'm scarred from having to listen to her all the way home from Latitude last year, playing loud pointless noises and reading out her insipid listeners "hashtag amazeballs" tweets, it was like nails down a chalkboard. I'm the designated driver this year though, so it's Simon & Garfunkel for the 6 hours there and 6 hours back. Used to have no beef with Cotton when she was providing X-Men cartoons on a Saturday morning, but since then she's given me cause to develop some serious heavy duty wheat-based beef substitutes (don't eat animals, yo) with her.

A new girl called Clara just replaced Fearne, she's alright so far. Good taste too tho maybe a bit urban for daytime Radio 1.

Huw's been given a permanent nighttime slot now so has stopped covering every daytime show that ever needs covering ever. Grimmy's listening figures are in the shitter so he'll probably be thrown off breakfast in favour of Greg soon. If that happens and Scott Mills goes too then every weekday show between 4am-1am will have been given a new presenter since the beginning of 2014, place will be unrecognisable. They're just using placeholders til I get there tho really.

I didn't realise they'd gone this far down the shitter.

BBC Radio 1 set out to reach a more ‘youthful’ audience and that’s exactly what they did. Unfortunately, it's cost them nearly one million listeners.

According to official Rajar listening figures, the station averaged 9.7 million listeners a week during the first three months 2015, its lowest audience since the end of 2003. Year on year, the station has lost 830,000 listeners from its 10.5 million weekly average in 2014.

Nick Grimshaw’s breakfast show has slumped to his lowest listening figures yet, with just 5.5 million tuning in to his antics every week.

The figures mark a record low for Grimshaw’s breakfast show, and are the lowest since Sara Cox’s final three months in 2003.

After criticism that the station was not youthful enough, Grimshaw was hired to replace Chris Moyles in 2012 in an attempt to attract younger listeners.

According to the new figures, listeners aged over 30 accounted for around 90 per cent of the dip in figures, the most common age of a Radio 1 listener being 21.

Radio 1 controller Ben Cooper congratulated the host, saying: “Grimmy is doing what I've asked of him by keeping his young audience happy and scaring off the over-30's."

That's some pitifully insincere spin, right there. I wonder if anybody actually believes that he's delighted his flagship show has repelled significant chunks of its audience.
