Who's Playing What Day Thread

The Moody Blues' website says Saturday so they're probably headlining Acoustic that night.
Also La Roux and Chronixx's websites both say Friday. I'm pretty sure it's not just listing the first day as most of the ones that list the first day say Wednesday.
You've got Ibeyi on the wrong day as it says Saturday for them. :P
edit: I've just seen you've probably been doing the same as me and looked through all the artist websites. That's a coincidence.

Yeah I looked through all the websites earlier on but didn't mention anything apart from the FFS thing.

Thanks for the Ibeyi thing though!

I'm thinking Suede for the Saturday, based purely on nothing more than wishful thinking to avoid clashes and the fact that they have a warm-up gig on the Thursday

This is the placement I'm most looking forward to. Ideally they'll be subbing Other OR with the apprent lack of Pyramid acts on that poster be 3rd down there. That's more based on hope rather than reality though as I already have my Friday / Saturday headliners sorted.

Just a general observation about the formatting of the text on the official news item in the Glastonbury website Regarding the announcement. I think Matt42 brought it to my attention in another thread.

It does seem to give very subtle clues about to the stage splits and potentially day's splits for some stages. I thought it was barmy but there are hints possibly:

Pyramid

FOO FIGHTERS

KANYE WEST

SPECIAL GUESTS

FLORENCE & THE MACHINE

PHARRELL WILLIAMS

ALT-J

LIONEL RICHIE

MOTÖRHEAD

MARY J. BLIGE

ALABAMA SHAKES

PALOMA FAITH

PATTI SMITH

Firstly it seems pyramid acts were first up. It may seem like the obvious but it works well on paper. You'd have Motorhead, Flo and foos Friday. Mary J, Pharrell and Kanye Sat. Alabama Shakes, Alt J and >insert headliner< on the Sunday. That all makes sense. It breaks down when it comes to Patti and Paloma. Up to that point it's in the formatting of the line up poster. Then it changes key to groups of bands we know are on t'other.

Other Stage

THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS

RUDIMENTAL

DEADMAU5

JAMIE T

BEN HOWARD

Theres 5 bands there we know are on the Other Stage. All heads and subs. The only one missing there is the vaccines who I can see being the sub to one of these. Then it changes again.

West Holts

HOT CHIP

THE MOTHERSHIP RETURNS GEORGE CLINTON, PARLIAMENT, FUNKADELIC & THE FAMILY STONE

FLYING LOTUS

FKA TWIGS

CARIBOU

ROY AYERS

RUN THE JEWELS

Neil's already had word about Hot Chip heading up Friday. Mothership confirmed also for Saturday. This would then suggest to me that Flying Lotus would he in line to head up the West Holts on Sunday, with FKA subbing (pure guesswork... Like the rest really). Then you would have Caribou before Hot Chip. Mutual friends and two artists who would evoke minimal crossover traffic. Roy Ayers subbing Saturday before the morthships return, in line with the funky theme that evening already. Then Run The Jewels fitting in nicely behind FKA and FlyLo on the Sunday. It's all seems to fit to me.

There are other groupings within the text that go together well. For example:

Suede

FFS

The Maccabees

Having these 3 grouped together, I would say would make 3 perfect John Peel Headliners.

This is no doubt wrong in places, but there does appear to be method in this madness. Everything referenced would make a lot of sense.

you might be right, but I think there's only 2 of the headliners listed for any of the stages. Remember, this isn't the full line-up, but a sample of it.

interesting. i assumed all the main stage headliners were listed on this initial lineup announcement (and was of the same opinion as T-Mouse about most of what he's listed). would be nice if some other acts get slotted in as the third headliners for each stage, but imo i think all the headliners are already there

I'd be surprised if all 3 park headliners aren't on there...

Super Furrys and Belle and Sebastian are grouped together, which made me feel they may be two of the parks headliners. I saw Ryan Adams nearby as well. Whether Ryan is too big to headline the park I'm not sure. Dependent on clashes I suppose.

Kaiser Chiefs headlined the JP last year and weren't on the initial poster.

that said, all the other headliners for Other, WH, JP and The Park were on the initial poster last year, so basically we had 11 out of 12 on there last year.

Neil can you please reassure me that the Chemical Bros are playing on Sunday? RA has them down as Saturday. I will cry real tears if so.

RA? Wassat?

I can only tell you what someone told me a month or more back, that they would be playing Sunday. I've no way of knowing if that's right or not.

Personally, based on what we know of the line-up, I would think Saturday is probably the least likely day for them. I expect them to be up against a non-dancy act (yes, I know Kanye is not the same 'dancy'), and for the Other Stage to have a more 'rocky' act as the alternative to Kanye.

forgot about Kaisers not being on there! maybe one or two of the big stage headliners aren't there, but i'd say most of them definitely are

Pyramid: Foos, Kanye, TBA

Other: Deadmau5, Chemical Brothers, Ben Howard (although i guess he could be a sub)

West Holts: Hot Chip, Mothership Returns, and i'm assuming Flying Lotus although he may be a sub or even on another stage

John Peel: Suede, FFS, possibly The Maccabees

Park: Super Furry Animals, Belle & Sebastian, Ryan Adams maybe

some of them i'm not too sure of and other acts may slot in there, but i think it'll look something like this

Surely FFS wouldn't be headlining any stage?

Resident Advisor.

I believe in your Neil. Mainly because I desperately want to in this instance.

They've got everyone down for Saturday. For some reason they've got that as the first day of the festival so even acts like Alt-J and La Roux who aren't playing Saturday are down for it.
