I just got notifications that the ticket info page and the ticket faq page got updated but I don't visually see any changes in the text or anything =[

The east campervan and TIPI parts have just gone from not currently available to SOLD out, i dont know how the monitor works but maybe these changes create a notification in the system?

Ahh your version so much more evolved than mine... for example, my script (which is still very young, literally just turned on e-mail alerts today!) just e-mailed me with:

There has been a change to http://glastonbury.seetickets.com

Previous hash: a08b4ff8df14bb1664b4c526845e4c94

Current hash: fbe3f929123e4456246f9828caa18495

Content doesn't match previous hash

Difference in content between previous and current pages

< <script type="text/javascript">var NREUMQ=NREUMQ||[];NREUMQ.push(["mark","firstbyte",new Date().getTime()]);</script></head>

> </head>

< <script type="text/javascript"> if (!NREUMQ.f) {NREUMQ.f=function() {NREUMQ.push(["load",new Date().getTime()]);var e=document.createElement("script"); e.type=text/javascript"; e.src=(("http:"===document.location.protocol)?"http:":"https:") + "//" + "js-agent.newrelic.com/nr-100.js"; document.body.appendChild(e);if(NREUMQ.a)NREUMQ.a();};NREUMQ.a=window.onload;window.onload=NREUMQ.f;};NREUMQ.push(["nrfj","bam.nr-data.net","abab2c60d3","2043048","YgYHY0ZQWBZQVERbV1tMIVhAf1MRclheRkpaDwlSRh51Cl9DVVxMGioLU1FJ",15,31,new Date().getTime(),"3D92BE8DEF7CF46F","","","","]);</script></body>

what language are you using? i wouldn't run diff to check for differences in a md5 hash as you'll get a lot of false positives.

i stripped any lines containing:

/script type/

/<noscript>/

/SEE.options/

then just ran diff, and it was fine. inelegant but worked a treat. got a ticket :D

this was just in bash. simplicity.

What's interesting is that in the ticket FAQ page it says that for campervan passes and worthy view accomodation, any cancellations will go back online immediately for resale, yet still nothing has been stated about secret resale for festival tickets :(

Yeah you don't need to do the hash checksum, as "diff" will return an error level on the command line (or just check the output is null). Hashing is a tiny bit CPU intensive.

I do filter out the nreumq line too, as well as the header and body tags.

This year I added the use of "wkhtmltoimage" to render the page into a image file, and imageMagik tools (identify, convert and compare) to get a difference in the rendered image along with creating an animated gif of the changes. That's unreliable in identifying differences though so I still rely on the output of diff to tell me about any changes.

The list of users is in a MySQL database and each user has the ability to drive what sites they want to monitor through a web gui, as it also monitors for changes in line-up etc.

I emailed Glastonbury last night. They replied this morning saying

"Thanks for your message, at this stage a further resale hasn't been confirmed yet. However, we recommend keeping a close eye on the website over the next couple of weeks as if there was one going ahead, details would be on there first"

I think this is there way of saying don't sit at your computers all day until we have given an indication on the website roughly when it will be.

Is that a risk you're willing to take?

Yeah mate,Ive just been popping back now and then see what's happening. Cos if recent sales is anything to go by, coach comes first and my fingers are no way fast enough to get them.so once they've been ga comes day or so later,that's when it's time to get a bed pan sorted with a few essentials to last a couple of days.ive said all along on this thread I can't see it this week with no indication on the site and people have trouble with refunds

There aren't too many people who get off on this stuff but live for music festivals. Thumbs up!

I remember I saw a guy walking around at the festival last year with a 'I heart MPLS' t-shirt on. I wondered if he was from Minneapolis or was a networks guy who was way over the edge. If it was the latter, I should have said something - he would have loved it.

These used to be genuinely SECRET resales that benefited the most committed at efestivals. This year however, several people have been openly tweeting See tickets, GFL and Emily Eavis which has greatly increased the knowledge of these resales. I understand people's desperation and eagerness but producing greater exposure is counter-productive for everyone on this forum.

Also, after many direct emails asking about the resale, GFL are now responding that any resale will be advertised on its website. So, it now appears that the cat is well and truly out of the bag and that from now on the 'secret' resale is destined to become simply the 'second' resale.

Its still secret in the sense that they won't have set time and date for it, meaning if your are determined enough you have a greater advantage over most people.

It was advertised on the website last year, just in the small print buried in the T+Cs somewhere so you don't have to worry about it being "advertised" there I don't think. Agree with you re. tweeting though!!

Yes but people have been alerted to it. That's the point.

I dunno??? If people are willing to put the effort in,cos it is mentally draining, then they deserve a ticket. You know yourselfs how bad the waiting game is, as I do from last year.also the tweets you say may be people from this forum, who are getting frustrated
