I honestly don't understand why I am still monitoring this thread  Seetickets have repeatedly stated there will be no further re-sales and its just over two weeks until gates open, things are not looking good. Time to consider going in with a trader and wearing long sleeves all weekend?

they are hot on searches of vehicles this year for obvious reasons mate. i dont see much of that going on

Surely rather than long sleeves the thing to do is get a whole bunch of bracelets on your wrist.

Hadn't considered that, but did meet some people last year who were taken in to the festival in the back of a Defender by one of the farmers, so doubt they are searching them too thoroughly every time the enter. Plus I'd put money on the security on the gate the person goes in on being on the take as well.

I shall keep up with the blind optimism and fingers crossed for more competitions.

I spent the majority of my weekend at the local athletics Centre practicing my pole vault just in case I get really desperate!

I was lucky enough to be part of quite a large, well established camp. I brought only my luggage and a LOT of whiskey to help supply the bar.

That said, it could totally be done camping alone. As you've said, some tips from previous Burners, a good knowledge of what to expect and you'll be fine. I've often said you could turn up at Burning Man with nothing more than the clothes on your back and you'd be taken in somewhere and have the best week of your life!

Yeah last week was ridiculous with the 1100001 alerts. I turn them off when I go to bed. I've had the 2 on the main page too this morning but I think they are just background changes.

I've not had a checkpage alert since last Tuesday.  And that was the first one for ages as well... maybe even the 6am wake-up text that cost me a few grey hairs
