The prices are ridiculous but are what the market will bear - as is borne out by so many contemplating it on here. Whilst they can get it - thats what the prices will be.

One of the downsides of a free market economy - not helped by a government that favours no regulation and little scrutiny. But we can all do our little bit to try and change that today cant we children?

The government could never regulate how much someone sells a blagged hospitality pass, so would make no difference.

If they "regulate" the rest of the market - all that is left is the blagged tickets. This affects supply and lowers the value of the blagged tickets if more tickets are available through more legit routes. Agree you cant stop it  - but you can affect the price.

I was walking through the park this morning with my dog when I saw a man. "Which way are you going to vote?" I asked him. "Conservative" he said. With that my dog bit him.

A little further on I saw a woman. "Which way are you going to vote?" I asked her. "Conservative" she said. My dog bit her as well.

As I carried on I saw another man. "Which way are you going to vote?" I asked. "Labour" the man replied and with that my dog bit him.

I don't think my dog gives a fuck about politics!:)

is there anyone here who has camping sorted but needs a ticket?

Not sure I get you Andy? Most people would be taking a tent wouldn't they?

Thats what I'll be doing.

Maybe he means someone taking a tent in and you go in using an "alternative route"

Ahh, could be. I was thinking about this earlier actually. If people do get in by more erm, unconventional methods, would they also be able to get a bag in?

The places that offer accommodation and tickets are made sell the tickets at face value by the festival, they basically use them as bait for their pricey bell tents or whatever.

As I understand it, as regards the hospitality tickets, there are two routes. One is the "accommodation + tickets" route. These are usually on neighbouring farms. The farmers were able to buy hospitality tickets, as anyone else meeting the criteria could in February 2017. They generally sell the tickets at face value + VAT + booking fee. Some also had access to general admission tickets. The festival only lets them resell those tickets in conjunction with accommodation. This therefore costs the festival nothing; in fact it earns a premium by selling tickets that allow buyers nothing more than a couple of short cuts, some posher portaloos, and the chance they might meet a celeb in passing. The farmers are kept happy because they get to earn some revenue, and they therefore don't kick up (as much) over the festival chaos. Bear in mind that for them, the country lanes etc they rely on have already been shut/blocked with arctic trucks for several weeks.

The other route is a grey route, where those who have hospitality tickets (friends of bands etc) use certain resellers to sell their tickets (usually for pitch your own tent in the on-site hospitality area) for a (usually very) significant markup.

We used fly glastonbury at Windinglake a couple of years back and yes they do sell the hospitality tickets at face value but you also have to buy a windinglake pass for about the same price and then it was plus £300 for a pitch for a tent or campervan, so when we used it it was a minimum of £1100 per person, so it is not a cheap option at all. The backstage area access was a bit useful as it cut down on some of the walking and there was much more chance of getting somewhere to sit but it really is an expense for the rich or desperate i would say:)

My advice would be to take everything you need for the day down with you so you only have to do the hill once per day. Maybe leave a bag with some bits in, change of clothes etc in one of the lock ups or with your daughter.
