I can assure you i am not being cruel in the slightest, there are people here who will be attending and of course its going to be mentioned a few times! Im still hoping to get my sister and niece there, but not everyone is going to make it.

Don't worry - tongue was in cheek! I'll head to Facebook now.

Where do we stand on the 'hail mary' approach to getting in on other people's tickets?

I'm giving it a go this year - obviously it has it's risks - especially given the additional security following recent events.

Just wondering if anyone has ever done it before and how they've got on?

Two years ago my friend was taken aside and had to provide ID to match his ticket, because they didn't believe it was him. To be fair though, he didnt actually look like his picture, but if you didnt have matching ID you'd be on to plums and out of pocket - I believe they take the ticket off you?

This should help - 7856506-Funny-mask-Stock-Vector-funny-gl

Just pray that the photo on the ticket is poorly printed

I'd say if you bear a passing likeness to the photograph you have every chance on being successful. Make sure you know name, address, postcode, registration number etc. If you know the person I would also borrow some Id off them too. An old bank card or something.

The Information page has been updated as below, so whilst getting in on other peoples tickets is still an option, being smuggled in in a bag/car/traders van may not be.

PLEASE PACK LIGHT

For security reasons, all Glastonbury 2017 ticket holders will be subject to extra searches of their vehicles, their bags and their person at this year’s Festival. We encourage you to pack as light as you can.  As a general rule, we would ask you to only bring as much as you can carry yourself. It really will make things quicker. For more information, please click here.

I did it in 2015 and I got in but I don't think I could do it again, so stressful! But saying that it was of course worth it once I was in. I think if you pick a friendly looking steward you've got a good chance (tbh I looked nothing like the photo). Just be confident and chat with them like normal and you should be fine.

I'd have copies of ID - not wanting to bring originals to the festival. You think this would wash?

Positivity - I like it.

Passing likeness... if it's a swift pass. In fairness, I look nothing like my own registration now anyway - plus they stretched the image so much on my ticket the past two years I look like an alien cone-head.

I'm hoping my beard hides the lack of likeness!

cheers for the tips.

Slightly cruel to post this on a chat for people not actually able to go…

I have to agree. There must be somewhere more suitable for people getting excited with tickets to post things like that. I have no ticket. Nobody in my family has a ticket and we are gutted. Some of this does feel like having your nose rubbed in it.

Never my intention to rub anyones nose in it...I hope I haven't offended anyone if that's the case

I'm not offended. I just feel really sad right now and am probably being overly sensitive.

I don't think it was about you, I think it was to do with asking who is going to the peace sign meet up at the stone circle.

I probably didn't help with my insecurity posts though

Possibly, even without a ticket I do quite like people seeking advice about what to do. But having to think about things we definitely can't do this year is quite hard.

You will have an incredible time. Enjoy.
