I was on 3 last year and I had signal and 3G all of the time but absolutely nothing would work, couldn't access anything over the internet and calls and texts just wouldn't work, except for once when it was really crackly. Luckily 3 sell their phones unlocked so I'll just order an EE sim and use that in my iPhone because I use it for pictures etc too.

But if you're on 3, and you need use of your phone, I'd take an EE sim to be safe.

thanks mate!

Same here last year on 3- had no internet/mobile data access at all and couldn't send my annual picture message to my dear old Mum.

No Internet access didn't really bother me - until we traipsed to John Peel to find Chromeo had cancelled. Had been looking forward to them all week and we hadn't a clue what was going on!

  • 2 weeks later...

Decided to play it safe and get a PAYG EE sim.

I think I'll get an EE sim too. I'm on giffgaff and it was ok last year apart from the last day when I couldn't use it for anything. Only thing that came through was the same text over and over and over from a mate!

I've gone and done this and had my iPhone 5s unlocked from vodafone, but can i get it to acknowledge the EE sim? I've done a delete and reinstall but it just doesn't seem to like it!

Hmm, how annoying! Maybe take it into an EE shop and see if they can help? It could be the sim? I have a Google phone so can switch sims at will so I don't have any other advice I'm afraid!
