They sound like pop records to me....

Well it's the fact they are branded as a sort of "new house" / dance music but using more elements from Pop.

Charts right now are littered with stuff similar, we definitely don't live in a Katy Perry, Rihanna, lady gaga, madonna domination era anymore. Don't think the latest singles of any of those have even charted high enough to matter!

Seems the only remaining successful Pop girl is Taylor swift :P, and you can argue that she's not even pop!

Ellie Goulding

Iggy Azalea

Meghan Trainor

Sia

Charli XCX

Beyonce

All of these have had recent success in the 'female pop star' category but ok

You've named 3 acts who haven't had nothing new out in a while. (I am damn sure, when Katy Perry/Rihanna release something) it will be everywhere.

We really are not in this 'new era' no matter how shite like Clean Bandit are marketed. (Anyway they are hardly a dominating force to be reckoned with are they?)

Rihanna has just released two singles in the past month and madonna just released an album.

i know it's a pretty broadminded crowd at G, but i've never heard of that kind of act being booked before. certainly not on the bigger stages.

Only just opened this thread (the George Ezra thing had put me off), but this response was under-rated :D

PS not sure where George Ezra played last year but in terms of being placed too low the crowd for Royal Blood at lunchtime was huge.
