My Brother ( Hogshead on here ) knew Ricky Gervias when he was an entertainments manager at the Student Uni of Gower st in London and Gervias said that Radiohead were the best live rockย band he'd ever seen then, given he'd seen a few pass through in those days, he went onto XFM shortly after that. I think that was around the time of Pablo Honey / Bends.

Hail to the Thief joint last! The album that spawned 2+2 = 5 , There There and of my hidden faves " sail to the moon" has to be above TKOL surely?

ย

It feels like a really tired album to me and I think the King of Limbs last three or four songs are excellent. I do really love gagging order from around the same time though. ย

The Thom Yorke Pyramid Stage sound quality comments....where is this coming from?

ย

I'm not gonna be able to find it but whilst people were speculating about who the final headliner was this year, someone posted saying they met Thom Yorke and asked him if Radiohead were the final headliner. He said no and that it was because the sound from the pyramid wasn't good enough.

ย

Probably bollocks.

Given they supposedly turned down Glastonbury on the In Rainbows tour cycle to play Reading instead, whose main stage at times is like listening to a band through a cup and string in the next county over, it has to be bollocks.

That was a very strange decision. Must have been money. Maybe they didn't think it had been long enough since 2003? I think that was their excuse in 2008 for not playing.

Annoying, either way.

Both have very memorable sets. I like Pulp but I'm not sure they are Pyramid headliners anymore. I'm not actually sure they were anyway, bar the obvious point hey were booked as one.

That'll be the clincher. ย

ย

They wereย certainly a pyramid headliner in 1997. ย If Stereophonics can headline, then Pulp damn well can!

Did Gervais go to UCL then? Or just work there?

ย

ย

ย

Edit - So he fuckin' did. And did philosophy! Huh. Never knew.
