I don't think they'll play glasto, they'll do a european tour late this year and play a load of big arenas then it's off to coachella + american festivals for them next year

aye not a chance NWA would be booked for Glastonbury. i reckon they'd start off by headlining Coachella (not Europe but just seems obvious) and then do a load of other festivals elsewhere paying big bucks

 

agree about Jungle's songs all sounding the same. caught them at Primavera as there was fuck all else on and they were great live, surprisingly so, but christ they really need to change it up come next album because they've milked that one song they have to death several times over

Is it a proper reunion? I've just read that the studio are bank rolling some euro dates to coincide with the film. Nothing about a full flung reunion.

To be fair, they've hardly got an hours worth of decent songs as a band, certainly without Eazy's stuff.

aye, if we're talking about just NWA stuff, then Straight Outta Compton, Fuck Tha Police, Gangsta Gangsta, Express Yourself... is there much else that would really get the crowd going? i'm sure they'd end up playing some solo songs as well to pad it out, but overall as far as an NWA show it'd be pretty lacklustre

A very close prediction I'd have thought but slightly too high for Royal Blood I feel. The Jamie T or the Motorhead/Alt-J slot for me. I do think Kendrick would be better on Other Stage but I agree that he'd be booked for 'that' slot. For me personally this is as good as it could get but it gives me a Prodigy clash which is inevitable. I actually feel they'd be better suited subbing to FM, both older bands but The Prodigy will have many younger fans.

I think that the enthusiasm of the crowd really helped.  It was the best gig of the week for me, but I can see how someone else would just find it a bit meh.  Most of the acts I saw this year I was checking out almost blind on the basis of hearing a few bits and pieces and recommendations, so for me it was a case of being really impressed by an act I barely knew.

 

I know I'm probably being a bit starry eyed in my hope for them playing so high up the bill over in West Holts, but I definitely think that a later booking on that stage would be a good fit for them, they certainly pulled a big enough crowd at the Other stage to justify it and I suppose the question is whether they capitalise on that or dwindle off into the realms of forgotten acts that almost made it.

I don't think it actually means anything other than a number of people have put a bet on that leading them to try and curtail a big payout if it does come to happen. They've done that with a number of bands in recent years like Stone Roses, Oasis and Coldplay IIRC.

the new Dre album thing is very interesting - the fucking Chinese Democracy of the hip-hop world and it seems he was gonna drop it with zero notice. might end up being an over-exaggeration from Ice Cube, but i'm interested to hear whatever's released non the less
