Muse, Blur and Foo Fighters would be one hell of a set of headliners. As in, a living hell. All very dreary.

Or not.

I'd be made up with that. Blur & Foos would be great and Muse give you a reason to be elsewhere for one night.

I have to say I missed having a Pyramid headliner this year so two next year would make up for it.

It's all a bit samey though. It needs someone/something to liven it up.

That said, there's not been a Pyramid headliner I've genuinely liked in all the 9 years I've been going so I'm probably not the person to have an opinion on this.

For starters it'd be the second year since the new album release for both bands - that's not particularly usual for a Glastonbury headliner.

aye not like Glastonbury to play second fiddle to other festivals, especially with these two acts who many would associate with Glastonbury to begin with. think there are far too many other possible headliners out there for them to resort to falling back on these two on the second leg of their tours (especially Muse as their latest album didn't exactly light the world on fire - now that the organisers have seen this i don't know why they'd be in a rush to book them)

I don't know about this though - arguably Glastonbury played second fiddle with Kanye this year.

I think most of the time this is probably true, but not all the time.

Kanye was probably booked for Glasto this year on the assumption that he'd have an album coming out, so they wouldn't have been playing second fiddle.

yep, this definitely. at the time of his booking i'm betting even Kanye thought he'd have a new album out by the time the festival came around - it just didn't work out that way in the end

mostly glasto gets the acts last, and not first.

bands go for the money first, and that's not Glasto,

Glastonbury may not be the festival that acts (especially American) go for to begin with, but when Glastonbury does eventually get them it's almost always on the first leg/year of their new album tour, rather than the second/end

Certainly. 2/3 new post-Yeezus songs out and the new album name(s) and artwork announced before the festival so it's definitely not the last dregs of the Yeezus tour. Kinda wish it was as it mighta been more exciting.

it won't be Muse or Blur, i'd bet on that

I'd be 100% willing to join you on that. I won't join you on the Kanye playing, new album/no new album etc saga as we know where I stand on that (cough*shouldn't have happened regardless* cough ;P)

Fleetwood Mac added to Rumours*

Surely a none starter after this year?

*I know

YES! If they are touring again next year then I reckon it's a case of then or never. They've done their Christine McVie reunite cash in! That's probably what stopped Glasto this year. I'm sticking with Biffy Clyro, Foo's and FM for now.
