Headliners 2016

Why wouldn't I think they would sub if they played? It is based on that, not the instagram. They are touring again, they took pay dates this year, they have a past with Glasto which seems a mutual liking and it will have been 6 years since playing, that's a nice gap considering some who have returned.

Sorry dude I misread your post as saying 'I would go as far as saying Faithless are subbing the Pyramid'. :P

Is it a bit naive to think that the Opener headliner would be someone pretty big? Like a Coldplay or somebody like that? Can only imagine bands of that size needing to know their schedule a year in advance.

Also I suppose Opener would be shooting themselves in the foot if they announce someone small so early in the day.

I'd have argued that Faithless subbing, with pretty much the same set as years ago would be beneath Glastonbury, if it wasn't for that Who shambles this year.

Don't forget both Dizzie rascal 2010 and 13 with the latter releasing nothing extra of note, 2010 was where he hit his strongest point in terms of massive songs which you'd probably say was Bonkers. 2013 major difference was Bassline Junkie, still finished with Holiday and Bonkers though which pretty much says he had no better option than what he did 3 years previous. Sometimes they'll just get a fan favorite back and they can mix the set up a bit while still putting the main classics in.

I reckon if Faithless aren't there then Kendrick and Noel G are two big shouts for subs, if hey are then I'd go with Kendrick, Disclosure and The Prodigy to headline Other, it would mean 3 similar Others to this year but I don't think we'll get any Pyramid headers it'd look out of place against.

Dizzie had a new album out in 2013 Gaz what are you chatting?

And where is he since then Matt? Forgotten!, his stock majorly dropped!, he had his moment with Holiday, Bonkers, the song with Flo and then Bass Bassline Junkie did alright for a while and that was that.

Where are Faithless?, far from forgotten.

He said he'd released nothing new of note other than Bassline Junkie which is true.

Although Glasto probably wouldn't have expected his new stuff to bomb so badly.

Wow Will defending me haha. Cheers :P

I expect not, he'd have got his slot off of that but in fairness he should never have got sub in 10 or 13, no other festival took that chance on him, 3rd down at Reading and 4th down at T. Glasto being home to much more people probably got away with it. To be fair, he's never done own dates above Academy either so he's never done anything above most 3rd down acts and that was when festivals were still booking stronger bills.

er, what? Faithless are completely forgotten. people would be waiting around for 3 songs from the late 90s. they haven't been relevant for years.

nowhere near subbing the Pyramid level these days.

not to mention the music being utter turgid shit for years.

People have only waited for 3 songs anyway! :P

Said it before on here they were excellent at Boardmasters

I quite believe it but they were booked below Coldplay for 3 songs, they were booked below Stevie for the same, what's the difference in doing the same again if it's a pleaser and helps the card look strong. Good get by Boardmasters, still hitting arenas at £40 a time tbf

I thought they'd be shit and then saw them play london this year and they were nothing short of sensational. And I am not really a fan at all.

Then again, I also saw queen with adam lambert and also though that was mega so what do I know...

go your own way was a bit out of tune mind.

What's going on Russy ? Didn't you also enjoy Kanye at Glastonbury ?

On a really real though, it's probably Kendrick Lamar. He cancelled Open'er this year and maybe him returning was agreed straight away but not announced because of him doing a sister festival, Krakow Live, last week. This would be good.

I went to Leeds festival on Friday just for the day and kendrick lamar absolutely blew me away, I'd have him on the other stage next year if he's still touring, it was sensational stuff

Going by that logic they could book Dizzee Rascal to sub again next year because people will be waiting for the same few songs they were in 2010...

No, because more people are bothered about Faithless than Dizzie. Going by seetickets alone they have sold out Standing at the MEN (I'll point out now, who wants to sit for them?), 3 nights at Ally Pally as well, Dizzie never played anything as big as Ally Pally on his own tour to start with and his last attempt at releasing a mix with someone 'in the zone' at the time flopped on it's arse!

I'm not saying they WILL play again next year but you can't compare them to Dizzie.
