How true is it likely to be all were booked though?, we hear this every year.

There's what Michael says and then there's what Emily says. I've yet to catch Emily telling porkies about a single thing.

In this particular case she ruled out Foos for next year because it's booked up. That's a big call to make if it's not, given their forced-cancellation this year.

So while I don't know with certainty, I'm inclined to believe what Emily has said - tho of course it's quite possible they're loose arrangements in place at the moment as opposed to signed and sealed.

What's the info for FM you have given the R status?

Yeah I would believe what Emily says over Michael, but I'd find it hard to believe them playing Pinkpop and Werchter and not doing Glastonbury. I'm going to guess the general thought is they will be at R&L though?, not that I'm saying that's been confirmed at all.

Haha, I guess that's all the R was going to come down to, I hope so. I think FM and Biffy myself either way, if not Foos, it would have been good but Sonic Highways was rubbish.

I just hope the message gets out, because surely lots of Foo Fighters fans are going to be trying for tickets on the assumption it's going to be them, after the precedent of U2 coming straight back the next year,

I was having a discussion with someone in work today who is convinced Kendrick Lamar is now headline material, I doubt it personally, but I could see him playing a big slot, sub/other stage headliner next year

Personally haven't even got a slightest idea who could headline next year, don't want to think about it until a ticket is in the bag

aye Kendrick is a Pyramid sub/Other headliner. he may have grown in popularity massively since the release of his album, but you'd be hard pressed to find an act who goes from subbing festivals one year (like he did at Reading/Leeds) to headlining festivals another year on the same album tour. next album though? definitely. not sure if Glastonbury will be the first to snatch him up (though they'd be wise to try), but he'll be headlining whatever festivals he plays at

Just spotted that Tinderbox has moved to Thu-Sat of Glastonbury weekend next year rather than Fri-Sun as it was launched this year. Bravalla and Garorock are now the weekend after and obviously Werchter has reverted to its normal weekend after as well. Not that interesting but there should be a lot fewer cases of bands being in Europe but booked up over the entire weekend next year, but that probably won't stop ZZ Top again.

He's definitely US headline material, I can imagine that UK festivals will soon take the jump (wireless have already). I think festivals need to take more risks and I reckon kendrick would be a good one!

yeah this is my thinking - UK festivals (or Glastonbury, specifically, as i guess Eminem headlined Reading pretty early in his career, although he was the last/only one) don't tend to give the same push to hip hop acts as headliners that they do with bands, but Kendrick is the obvious next/only option whenever they decide to go in that direction again. wouldn't be surprised to see him headline Coachella next year though i suppose

I guess you have to consider that the Open'er header given previous years crossover is to be well considered for Glasto, provided it's not a random smaller name. I can't see them releasing a name this early and it not being a big one. Very early though as it was December before the 1st header last time and even the 1st names. I think it does maybe point to an act that already had agreements that they can do it that early. Kendrick as Dental said is possible but given the time frame that Foo's would be over for Pinkpop and Werchter if that does happen, Foo's make sense.

I think somewhere like Bloodstock announced one of the next years headliners actually at the event once

Maybe it'll get like the Olympics and world cups and we can get the announcement seven years before the event. Organisers will just have to predict.
