it looks very unlikely from where I'm sat.

Face it, she's playing, and while it might not be your thing (it's not mine) it could hardly be called a bad booking for Glastonbury. There's a story in one of the papers today of a ticket for one of her shows being touted at £24,000.

And I don't doubt she'll smash it too. She'll have the crowd eating out of her hand via the giggly-dippy-sweary-scared thing she does.

£24k ticket story is only worthy of comment if some idiot pays £24k for the ticket. Which no one ever will, unless they are stupid. You can still get tickets, if you are lucky, on twickets, at face value, although you need to be quick to snap them up  because they don't hang around for long. And the 24k ticket needs to be in your name, so you will need to change your name as well

I am going to put some Gary Numan tickets up for sale for £1million,  I wonder if that would be a worthy story

If this is true then I take my hat off too her

Oh its true its actually 31million copies of 21 (25 the recent one has sold 19 million in 3 months)

I think its a British trait to assume big American acts are bigger than the British one (probably usually are) but we are underplaying the size of Adele I think and her headline worthiness.

The rest of the world outside of this forum would LOVE an Adele headliner, on a recent trip to America she was almost spoken about in hushed tones of devotion by anyone. It doesnt really matter what we post on here, the reality is that the opinions posted on here do not reflect those of the public, and dont realistically reflect the majority of the people who will be on site come that fateful day.

She's undeniably massive. This will be big big news, the media will be all over it, and the viewing figures for the BBC coverage will be off the scale. Thing is, if you were the Eavii, and had the chance of booking Adele, you'd bite her fucking hand off.

New Order is my Saturday night. That's how it's planned so far. I wanted Radiohead - Fri and New Order - Saturday.

Im actually worrying that Im gunna have nothing to see as Headliners bar New Order... then again, it could be a blessing. Only 100+ other stages.

Are Radiohead not more of a band that you would go and appreciate at a gig on a Tuesday night and maybe ask the pretty wallflower out of the office, who wears the brown cardigans if she would like to go with you?

Me personally, I go to gigs and festivals to enjoy myself. There is nothing about Radiohead that I find remotely fun. I could not think of anything worse really than it being peak time on a Saturday night and everyone is stood about, stroking their chins 'appreciating' the music.

Thats not to say bands like Radiohead do not have their place. Everyone needs a bit of solemnity and self reflection at some time in their lives. I can perfectly understand someone sitting at home, having some me time and listening to Radiohead.

It is the idea of saving up all year, being on the razz all day and then standing there listening to Radiohead that I find a bit alien really.

I agree to a certain extent, but there's plenty in Radioheads cannon to nail a Saturday night. I'm not their biggest fan (well, not compared to some of the oddballs on here :P), but I can think of at least half a dozen songs that would be full on euphoric moments, even based on them missing out most of The Bends/OK/Creep.

I am not one to write something off without experiencing it. The plan is to go Berlin in September. Hopefully NO will not be on at the same time as Radiohead so I will give them ago.

On record they are not for me, it is too dark and dour. There has been loads of times though that I have been pleasant surprised by bands in the live setting after not really liking their recorded output.

Easty, out of interest what are your thoughts on Mozzer?

Its a bit of a love hate thing I have going on with Mozza. I think he is a bad prick and when I went to see him live last year he bored me shitless.

On record I find him quick, sharp and witty. The smiths have this reputation for being miserable and morose. I do not find them miserable in any way. Yes suffer little children is really sad and a little too close to home, How Soon Is Now is dark also. I find The Smiths kind of uplifting and that maybe Johnnys guitar work although I think Mozza's lyrics are funny rather than depressing..

I am not into Johnny's solo stuff yet I think some of Morriseys own stuff is absolutely majestic (lot of shit as well though)

These would all be valid points if it wasn't for the fact that the alternative is Adele.
