Martin Ashford
Well... I am blushing deeply here. I never knew Chasing Pavements was by Adele. That's quite a good song. I never cared for Someone Like You and when local bands started covering Rolling In The Deep I huffed and puffed in disapproval. I guess my problem is she's basically a soul singer and I'm not big on soul/jazz vocalists. I didn't really get Amy Winehouse who I saw a few times. This would be very nice on a sunny afternoon - in fact it would be ideal - but on a Saturday night? I think if I was smashed enough I might get into it. I'm going to give her a fair shot but at the end of the day - if Slayer are on somewhere you will won't see me for dust. They make Metallica sound like Bon Jovi. I was looking for an Adele wig on Ebay yesterday and couldn't find anything.
Mouseboy11
I actually don't mind quite a bit of Adele's stuff, she does ballads well. I just don't have any interest in watching a 90 minute set from her.

I blame that arsehole Cowell for this. He has almost ruined British culture. Totally agree....
Amy Lawn
I find there's no personality to Adele's music, it all just sounds like platitudes to me. There's a million break up songs in the world, and hers are the most one-note and devoid of individuality. It's surprising that they were all based on a real life relationship, because they all sound like they were penned by somebody who was instructed to write something of the sort and then thought "hmm, what sort of things would a person who's been dumped say?". JoBalls
Apparently she told the audience tonight that she had been "fucking shitting myself all day," and then added "bad bowel movements. I’ve had to have an Imodium." Hopefully we can expect some poo chat on the Pyramid.

Not convinced people are sick of her...

the wonderwhy
What's the latest on these Stone Roses warm up gigs that were mentioned the other day, out of interest? Me personally, I go to gigs and festivals to enjoy myself. There is nothing about Radiohead that I find remotely fun. I could not think of anything worse really than it being peak time on a Saturday night and everyone is stood about, stroking their chins 'appreciating' the music. Thats not to say bands like Radiohead do not have their place. Everyone needs a bit of solemnity and self reflection at some time in their lives. I can perfectly understand someone sitting at home, having some me time and listening to Radiohead. It is the idea of saving up all year, being on the razz all day and then standing there listening to Radiohead that I find a bit alien really. Watch those, see if you think they are chin strokers. I get why they are not for everyone at times, but live - there will be something for a lot of people.

FloorFiller
So Adele's first show of this tour seems to be getting great reception and went off without a hitch. Gonna be a weird night at the Pyramid for sure but anybody who thinks she isn't gonna flat out nail it is kidding themselves. And that setlist up there is as good as anybody could want from her
