I appear to be way behind everyone here, where the hell did this SLAYER! rumour come from?

Adele we know is nailed on and whatever you think of her, she (like Muae and Coldplay) will put in a great performance. So can we talk about Slayer now please? Saw them at Brixton last year and they were back to their best, will also be seeing them at Bloodstock later this summer. The chance to see them defile The Park seems utterly bizarre to me.

The Slayer rumour stems from the age old theory of; if you say something enough times, it'll happen.

Get them on the Hell stage!

That's good enough for me! We shall have to keep saying it then!

Slayerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!

I've heard a rumour that Slayer are headlining the Park stage btw. I don't know whether I should just laugh uproariously, or prepare to get EXTREMELY excited

A mate of mine was in an 80's thrash band and supported a fair few of the big American lot on tour back then - never Slayer, but their contemporaries like Exodus and Testament. He was told it by a mate of his in the US. He could, of course, be yanking my chain, but that's what he said he's heard!

I hope Slayer sub the Park tbh. Just imagine Slayer in the sunset slot, Raining Blood blaring over the Park field, cider in hand. Would be a proper Glastonbury moment.

That would be awesome! The sun setting through a lacerated sky. Magic.

Setlist from opening night of the tour this evening. Personally think this would go down very well and definitely be more interesting/entertaining than The Who or Florence last year

  1. Hello

  2. Hometown Glory

  3. One and Only

  4. Rumour Has It

  5. Water Under the Bridge

  6. I Miss You

  7. Skyfall

  8. Million Years Ago

  9. Don't You Remember

  10. Send My Love (to Your New Lover)

  11. Make You Feel My Love
    (Bob Dylan cover)
  12. Sweetest Devotion
    (Live debut)
  13. Chasing Pavements

  14. Someone Like You

  15. Set Fire to the Rain

  16. Encore:
  17. All I Ask

  18. When We Were Young

  19. Rolling in the Deep

In case anyone was curious..

The bold ones are mid - fast tempo. A couple of the unbold are a bit less ballady than 'Someone like you' and the like, but I guess still count. I mean, this is all relative. Even the faster paced Adele songs she sings the shit out of, so can come across kind of ballad like, but they aren't really.

I suspect songs 8 - 12 are where she will lose everyone at Glastonbury. This was a 2 hour set though, so her Glastonbury set will be shorter, and really not that ballad filled. But likely still enough to put people off who don't want to stand around waving lighters for an hour and a half.

Not for nothing, but the first person I ever heard play 'Hometown Glory' was Zane Lowe. I Still think it's the best thing she's done, so if she's gonna play it second I could feasibly hear it before belting round to t'Other Stage for New Order.

PS Anyone know how to remove a 'quote' when you decide you don't want it?

no matter if you like her (I don't)

Adele is going to be massive, there is already too  much bad press regarding the lack of Female acts headlining. The crowd for her will be huge. if  you like that sort of thing it will be one massive sing along.

personally I will be some where else. but I hope she does do it she will go down very well

it's worded as "UK Festival Exclusive" in the official press release.

Wouldn't surprise me if they turned up in some form unless they are miles away or busy. Played five odd times in the past few years.
