the question of whether Biffy are big enough to headline is certainly one for debate. I went to T in the Park in 2014 and they smashed it there though. However a Scottish band headlining a Scottish festival is a lot different to Glastonbury or even Reading/Leeds. Personally after seeing such a good show at T I could't grumble if they ever got the nod to headline. Oh and Adele is certainly big enough to headline. Regardless of whether its suited for a saturday night or not or even taste, she will probably get the biggest crowd of the whole festival.

I'm not sure what I'll do in the case of the up coming Slayer / Adele clash.  I like both equally and would happily see both, although I've seen Slayer a number of times already and haven't seen Adele (for obvious lack of touring reasons)... interesting problem.

I still refuse to believe the possibility of Slayer but the thought of it happening keeps getting me a little bit excited which is surely what bookers should be looking for!

It is a totally mental idea though!

I am by no means Biffy's biggest fan but I was at Sonisphere 2011 which was there first major UK heanline show. I would say it wasn't their usual crowd (other Headliners were Metallica and Slipknot) but I thought they pulled it off really well.

Saw their previous Reading headline set on the box a couple of years ago and again thought they looked pretty good.

My only thing about them now is I think their star has fallen a bit since their height so the time may have passed on headliner status

Its a big joke but itd be legendary if it happened. there should always be at least one act that totally takes festi goers out of their comfort zone and exposes them to something new.....and trust me nothing would be more fun then a slayer show, first time I saw slayer was a defining moment for me until then id been one of these `nu metal` kids thinking korn etc was as heavy as it got.....fuck me I was blown away after that gig! I could say slayer were the band who finally exposed me to decent heavy metal.

Also slayer with gary holt(exodus) as they are now? holt and king sharing the stage? thats like a meeting of the manical riffmasters of thrash!

It wont happen, because its a joke as seen by the fact they arent even on the rumours page....but itd be awesome if it did!

Are you also saying its a "joke" and "won't happen" in a hope that it somehow helps to make it happen?

I know I am!

Adele is certainly big enough but would she be `entertaining` enough for such a big stage headlining said it before if it wasnt for her popularity shed be perfect for something like the acoustic stage, that kind of music ballad heavy poppy soul with not much energy isnt suited to headline....not unless your trying to get the crowd to bed early.

quite.

if it wasn't for my popularity, i'd be headlining the Pyramid.

Do you have this set to auto-post every hour or something?

I'm expecting Slayer on Saturday night now, it needs to happen!

I second the Biffy suggestion, saw them on their opposites tour in 2013 and headlining Reading the same year and they absolutely smashed it, they may not headline this year as they've gone quiet again with writing new material but if they're new album is anything like their previous ones then 2017 could be their year!

I need a popularity shed, I can sit in it and I'd have friends queueing around the garden.

I've not recovered from that yet

A couple of years ago someone on the TITP forum thought Bruce Springsteen would headine the second stage there. They were quite serious.

Love how everyone is saying they will dodging Adele on Saturday night. I bet 90% of this board will at least go see a song or 2 out of curiosity. I certainly will be even if I wander off after a couple of songs.

If there's nothing else on I'm interested in I'll definitely be there. Whether I'll last the whole set I'm not sure, but I'd be pretty gutted to miss all the big hitters at the end of the set so I reckon I'd stay unless it really was a car crash/incredibly boring. Set Fire to the Rain is gonna go OFF
