if he plays I am going to aim for the frontย

ย

ย

then if he offers I am on stage, once in a life time

ย

I remember watching that from the back somewhere laughing my nuts off, great festival moment

Belle & Sebastian had a tonne of folk up onstage with them last year as well.

we were there, well, I was watching from the side of the stage, but my mate, in a shocking lack of dignity, went on and strutted his stuff on stage.

Yeah, Hole doing it in '99 felt a bit anarchic and inventive, Iggy took it to the stage crushing limit and Belle and Sebastian managed to make it nice and twee somehow.

He wasn't the one chastised for taking a selfie, was he?

hehehe, no absolutely not. the rather portly middle aged gent, doing the indie shuffle while looking somewhat like a cricket umpire on a day trip.

ย

(tbd, I would have probably joined him, but the scaryย bloke that does onstage security told us that they had enough on stage already)

Reminds me of Iggy at Hop Farm, we were well back and getting some food before heading down the front again for Patti Smith. Iggy came on and all the people in chairs sitting far too near the stage were completely unprepared for the carnage that unfolded. Good times.

Monster day that one actually, Iggy, Patti, Lou Reed, Morrissey...

At a carter gig (phoenix 94) I was chatting with my mate, they came on and I was swept forward a good 20 or 30 feet in a sudden tide of people, losing my mate for most of the rest of the night, till I found him dribbling to System 7 some hours later in the sweatiest tent the world has ever known, I reckon the ground is still moist with drug addled sweat to this day.

I was at that. Iggy shouting 'people of Kent! people of Kent!' as the audience flocked onto the stage was very funny

Has a Roger Waters "The Wall" show been discussed/dismissed at all? Always surprised that Floyd have never headlined at some point, not being an avid fanย I don't know the history of their relationship but I guess getting them in the same room is the first hurdle. Just seems like they'd be made for that Pyramid

Already been done in 2002.ย Michael thought he'd booked Pink Floyd, and Roger Waters played before Rod Stewart.

Not Glastonbury relevant, I know,ย but I feel this is a such a shame. Saw Massive Attack doing the 'midnight sun' slot at Secret Solstice and it was incredible. Much better atmosphere than the indoor shows at the festival.

I think the production values of The Wall rule it out just due to sheer logistics. I think Gilmour stillย would be a very credible headliner.

It's a shame they never managed to get back together before Rick Wright died - I always imagined them recreating the cover of Dark Side with the pyramid in the centre and some well positioned lasers off to each side... not to be.
