it's been discussed, and her wording is more 'i'd shit myself if i did Glastonbury' rather than 'i'm not doing Glastonbury' - the same thing she's been saying for months now to put people off the trail

It's a chip butty and I'm from Yorkshire. Although every time I tell someone I'm from Doncaster they tell me I'm too well spoken to be from there and that they thought I was Southern. So maybe I don't use the proper northern terms.

There is a thread on bluemoon (City forum I use) on this very subject. It is 800+ pages long and had people kicking off at each other over whether it a barm or a muffin.

As an official scouser who has a purple bin and is not a wool I can confirm we do call it a chip barm. My local in Manchester also calls it a chip barm

English is full of examples.

Yeah my point was that that meaning is also used in England so using it doesn't make you Americanised.

Bun your English muffins, it's a bread bun or bread roll.

Anyway I just googled English muffins and that's clearly a specific type of bread bun.

Gah! I wasn't saying it's the only type, I was saying it's used for those things in England so using it as that doesn't mean I'm Americanised!

A McMuffin just proves the point. It isn't in a bread roll, it's in a different thing entirely, which is an English muffin.
