Just got told that Adele said she wouldn't play Glastonbury at her last concert on stage. Don't have the exact wording though and I doubt that does mean much.

it's been discussed, and her wording is more 'i'd shit myself if i did Glastonbury' rather than 'i'm not doing Glastonbury' - the same thing she's been saying for months now to put people off the trail

It's a chip butty and I'm from Yorkshire. Although every time I tell someone I'm from Doncaster they tell me I'm too well spoken to be from there and that they thought I was Southern. So maybe I don't use the proper northern terms.

A muffin is a sweet thing. A chocolate muffin. A blueberry muffin. It isn'tย a fucking bread roll.

Haha what have I started on here?

There is a thread on bluemoon (City forum I use) on this very subject. It is 800+ pages long and had people kicking off at each other over whether it a barm or a muffin.

http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/threads/muffin-or-barm.101815/

For the record I call it a muffin.

You have been Americanised. I bet you call a lift "an elevator", I bet you call the motorway "the freeway" too?!

I do neither of those! In that case, what do you call a chocolate/blueberry muffin???

A chocolate or blueberry muffin. A wordย can have 2 meanings.

English is full of examples.

If there was a something I needed to duck under, I wouldn't start quacking like a duck.ย

Google. English Muffin (well, just a muffin before the yanks turned up).

I bet you call it soccer too!!!! :)

Yeah my point was that that meaning is also used in England so using it doesn't make you Americanised.

Bun your English muffins, it's a bread bun or bread roll.

Anyway I just googledย English muffins and that's clearlyย a specific typeย of bread bun.

I love those Sausage & Egg chocolate muffins McDonald's doย :P

Gah! I wasn't saying it's the only type, I was saying it's used for those things in England so using it as that doesn't mean I'm Americanised!

A McMuffin just proves the point. It isn't in a bread roll, it's in a different thing entirely, which is an English muffin.
