I can honestly say I have never had a McMuffin... but isn't it just a small muffin? (Or whatever you call it. I don't know what else to call it as to me, its a muffin)

I dunno about size, but it isn't a bread roll, and from googling English muffins, neither are they.

It may be a small version of a muffin.

And anyone who gets a McDonalds breakfast item which isn't a sausage, egg and cheese bagel is doing it hugely wrong.

Yeah my point was that that meaning is also used in England so using it doesn't make you Americanised.

Bun your English muffins, it's a bread bun or bread roll.

Anyway I just googledย English muffins and that's clearlyย a specific typeย of bread bun.

You're totally right. An English muffin is the bread used for eggs Benedict. Chip barm or butty, I'm not arsed. A chip butty is chips in a barmcake.

Muffin, cob, roll, bap. All wrong.

And barm is by no means restricted to Mereeyside.ย

It's a fecking Barm Cake

ย

Chip Barm, Pie Barm are all fine ย Cob / Batch...silly midlands people. Bap = southern softies

ย

stood behind a southern girl at a food van a few years ago at Glastonbury and she orders chips cheese and gravy. I presumed she was the devil incarnate.ย

How on earth does "one" sound like "gone"?ย

ย

By saying them.

Presumably you say waan and gone?

EDIT: Forgot about wun and gone, like @LeeGalvin, below.

If E, W & F headline the Holts on the Sunday then I've got my three headliners and am happy enough..

My Saturday night headliner was Mothership on WH last year and I had a good time so would take EW&F as a decent back up option.
