Take issue with "begrudging" Cally.

Interesting theorem on Adele as modern equiv of Joe Cocker. Not that that strengthens her case in my mind... I wish her well. Don't see her as having even a soupçon of Amy Winehouse's musical flair or character, no. Amy was always edgy.

I only listened to 21 for the first time last weekend, but it's a heavyweight contender alright.  Song for song my first impressions are that she's a better songwriter than The Amy W.

I've posed this question many times on the Reading and Download forums! The bottom line is that whoever was booked, Radiohead included,there would be people who are not happy with the announcement.

We might as well accept that it is virtually impossible to get a set of headliners that is universally accepted.

Was she? Nobody can deny that her charm and personality left Adele (and most other pop stars) in her dust, and she had a belting voice, but I don't see her as being edgy. She was a purveyor of pastiches of things that came 50 years before her. She was damn good at it, and they were references that are very seldom drawn on in the mainstream, but nothing ever made me think "oh fuck, this is edgy".

Depending what else is on offer, Would defo watch Adele and quite possibly watch Coldplay.

I love Muse and reckon they will still get a decent crowd despite the slagging they get on here.

The Download forums went into meltdown when they were announced last year but they still got a large crowd and went down relatively well.

Same thing happened at Reading festival a few years ago.

For some reason,Muse fans don't reveal themselves on festival forums.

Whichever way you paint it; Madonna is one for the crowd you've been slapping Celine Dion and Donny Osmond labels on. It's just you're more fond of her.

The Kasabian thing wasn't to do with how much you or I like them either. But that year was littered with people bemoaning how there's no big selling name for Glasto. This year there's three, and they're all shit, but you want it the other way again!
