Tried my very very very very best to get into it. Love Iggy and Homme but yeah, unfortunately, meh.

yeah i never went that year but glancing over the lineup i always think it looks fairly mediocre, especially in hindsight as a lot of the bands high up the lineup are now back to headlining their local pubs. every stage is just crowded with NME bait indie landfill acts. clearly the bookers got a bit caught up in it all

I have fond memories of 2008, there was a lot of good stuff outside of the headliners and indie hype bands. Leonard Cohen and Neil Diamond on the Sunday were both pretty special, along with an excellent combo of Spiritualised into the National at the JP.

At the time any of the 'indie landfill' bands could have gone on to have succesful careers (Mumfords did!), just unfortunate that it didn't pan out that way for many of that years bookings...

I like it. It's a solid record. Gets better on every listen too.

I think I said it wasn't mindblowing, and I reckon many were anticipating it being something like that with two big rock icons involved, but it's a very good album nonetheless.

As sign-offs go, its a compelling listen. Textured but not overproduced.

Gorgeous sounding - the way Homme's solo tails off with Iggy's "Oh well" in "Gardenia" for example... *shivers*

Yes mate. Been paid out for Coldplay but not yet for Adele!! I started to panic that I had made a mess of the bet but it's defo there and says open! Not sure why they haven't paid out yet

They've told me they won't be paying out on Adele until after she's performed, but I've challenged them on it as they paid out on Coldplay and Muse just after they were announced

Just went and had a look - I retract my statement. That's one I wasn't actually at but I don't remember the line up being that bad!

Though I would have loved to have seen Jay Z, I must admit.

I hadn't long emailed them saying that it was incorrect of them to pay out on Muse/Coldplay, to then give another excuse not to pay out on Adele. I've been paid too now, nicely in time for ticket deadline week 

As Neil said, I don't expect Stan James to be betting on Glastonbury headliners next year, though I hope they are as they got it badly wrong. I know WH were quiet on the matter this year after last years goings on with FF and The Who

I only bet on Adele, I had 8/1 and 15/8 on her, which I thought might have been why they delayed payment as I had multiple bets, but apparently not

Nice, that's pretty high odds! When did you place the bet out of interest? It's seemed pretty nailed on for a while now.
