Interesting that it looks like Foals and Tame Impala are co-headlining that fest in Bilbao (at least based on their placement on the poster). Still be surprised if Tame Impala are subbing but they must be nailed on to be third down.

I'm going! (But that's beside the point.) You have to consider how big a band are in the other country. I went to Optimus in Portugal - The Cure and Radiohead were rammed, but the Stone Roses was dead. Also, apparently Editors are still huge in Belgium and headline whole festivals over there (I actually used to like them but I think it's fair to say that their output has dropped off somewhat!).

You lot keep worrying me when you say you're 'hoping' to see Tama Impala there. I've been assuming since last year that we'll be getting them 3rd down on the Pyramid stage. Is there some reason why they might be actually be there?

Just cause they're not even an R on the rumours page I'd imagine

That was precisely what you said. And at no point have I said I'm making any sort of sacrifice.

Not entirely sure what qualifies you to pass judgement on how people enjoy their festival.

I've just hammered out a compromise deal with Mrs Jass where Adele is exchanged for me getting first choice for pretty much the rest of the festival.

That would be absolutely ideal for me.  In the same way as foals are perfect for a sunset gig, Tame Impala while I'm whacked off my head in the blazing sun would be blissful.

but only with Fish for me

I've been a fan since the mid 80's, and I reckon the best way is to treat it as two separate bands. I like what Marillion have done with Steve Hogarth, in fact one of their songs was our first dance at our wedding, but it's clearly different from the Fish era. Fish's solo career is more of a continuation of his time with them. Both good (IMO), but different.

Anyway, sorry for the off-topic diversion. As you were! ;)

It's always the best way to view it.

I still go to Fish's solo gigs and pick up his latest albums. His Farewell to Childhood gigs last year (and more this year) were pretty good actually. Yes he can't sing in the same key any more but they were good fun and he always puts on a performance.

I have to admit that I'm definitely more of a Marillion fan though and stuck with Hogarth who (in my opinion) has got better and better. I also don't mind him singing the Fish era stuff any more (I used to, but I got over it!) and to be honest he does sing them better than Fish does now.

They're the only band I've flown to Canada to watch, even though I saw them do the same gigs a month earlier in Holland and then 2 weeks later in the UK.

Anyway, back on topic as they ain't ever headlining Glastonbury! (although I think they'd go down well in Avalon).
