slash's hat
La Isla Bonita is a fucking tune. Not really enough there for the casual viewer, is there? Not sure she could hold the Pyramid with that set list, really. Needs to put like a prayer back in for a start.
CaledonianGonzo
Yeah - as poor a setlist as it was last on the MDNA tour, the version of Like A Prayer was a humdinger.
Festival Liam
Yeah me too. Someone with a bit of hunger and relevancy. ย Kendrick Lamar on 2nd last please! ย And a gay, black woman. Any gay, black woman. ย Angel Haze fucking nailed it ... for the 20 of us who saw her at the Pyramid.ย
maelzoid
I'm sure I heard a rumour that Coldplay also came on to it... ย Coldplay came on to the Back to the Future overture. ย It is my buddy's favourite piece of classical music, and we missed it because I was faffing around at the tent with a can of Stagg chile.ย And we got a shite spot for the rest of the show. CHRLY
I'd want to see a lot more TPAB if Kendrick played, Wesley's Theory is just the perfect opener:
Amy Lawn
Such a great clip, I'm still pissed off his Reading set wasn't broadcast. What was the fucking point in R&L even happening this year if you don't broadcast that?
Badlands
This is sounding even fairer after hearing his new song yesterday (albeit in a low quality recording)... sounds like so little effort went into it. Not convinced he cares at all about his music or performance any more, he's just throwing out half-assed tracks to promote his clothes now. ย ย He was knocking out clothes while making his last album and Yeezus doesn't sound to me like the sort of music a man resting on his laurels would make. ย That said, the three tracks released this year were pretty gash. ย Such a great clip, I'm still pissed off his Reading set wasn't broadcast. What was the fucking point in R&L even happening this year if you don't broadcast that? ย It took me an age to realise. I just thought I couldn't find it on iplayer. There was decent phone footage of it on Youtube, or at least there was. Backstreet Freestyle looked mint!!
maelzoid
Anywhere in the pyramid field? :-) ย I knew I was walking into something like that...

CaledonianGonzo
Bit of an odd one given that last year's headliner for Edinburgh Hogmanay was Lily Allen, but if anyone suggested her to headline the G they'd (rightly) get a flea in their ear. thewayiam
Biffy have announced their first show for 2016, but I think they'l be at Download instead of Glastonbury ย What can possibly give you an indication from them headlining that NYE show that Download is more likely than Glastonbury? They won't be there.
maelzoid
What can possibly give you an indication from them headlining that NYE show that Download is more likely than Glastonbury? They won't be there. ย I like Biffy a lot and their Pyramid set in '11 was superb, but I just don't buy them as headline status yet. Only Revolutions was the big album and that pushed them up to support status, but Opposites felt very much like a holding pattern to me. When the new album hits, its going to need a couple of massive singles if they're ever going to make the jump. I suspect that like Elbow, they may not have the momentum to make it. A shame, because both those bands are far better than Kasabian or Mumfords have ever been
justanothername
I don't get this Biffy are only a sub at Glasto? They've headline loads of festivals now and are a popular act. Sub would just be a step backwards for them.

The point of Glastonbury / download was purely me discussing. Calm down and take a break from the internet

dentalplan
It's funny that people are still questioning whether Biffy are there yet when they're probably actually coming towards the end of their time as major festival headliners.
