Shame but I reckon they will do Download instead.

Seems Download have at least 2 headliners for next year sorted already if we go by past form with bookings - Maiden and Sabbath.

Will be seeing Sabbath for sure on this final tour..

It's no Mcbusted.......

if we're going for realistic predictions (as in acts who could actually headline, with new albums out, who are touring etc), i struggle to think of a worse set of headliners for 2016. i expect at least one of those (Adele) but hope at least one of the three is in any way exciting

Yeah that couldn't get much worse. There's a lot of shit acts that could do it next year - but that's okay cause one of them's going to be Radiohead, right???

i know it's foolish to get hopes up about acts like Radiohead headlining, because i do every year and they haven't yet, but i've got a good feeling about next year. thirteen years since they last did it/headlined is insane, and if not 2016 then it won't be for another... christ knows how long

You have to stay hopeful when the alternative is Coldplay.

not bothered about the headliners to be honest same as ever, didnt see any pyramid headliner last year not for the first time, the bigger and more important question is......how many pages can this thread reach before the festival this time around? can we break last years insane guess a thon?

Well I've just moaned about Radiohead so that should keep it going for a while.

It's very convenient for how the first year in my life when I don't go to Glastonbury (bar fallow years) I'm not too keen on the suggested headliners. I just couldn't get over it being someone like Radiohead though. Really hope you're wrong FloorFiller but have a nasty feeling.

I guess with those headliners (Adele, Biffy and Coldplay) it'd be a year for the masses, not the music critique i.e. the eFestival poster, with regards to the headliners.

For the record the worst set of possible headliners for me would be Mumford and Sons, Coldplay and Elbow

Radiohead....... Yawwwwwwnnnnn

yawnablity is no barrier to headling, as we all know.

Coldplay's looming new album is a troubling one, but i'm hoping they're gonna stick to their 'we've done it too much so are gonna give it a rest' (or whatever was said by Chris Martin) thing - hopefully choose another festival to do

you can just see them being called up at the 11th hour as an unnamed mystery headliner 'apparently drops out'

Pengers!  hows it going?

obviously there could be worse set of headliners than Biffy, Coldplay and Adele, but considering Mumfords only did it in 2013, and Elbow seem to have missed the boat on becoming headliners entirely, they don't really count for next year

kind of why i think it couldn't be those three - all a bit too modern and radio friendly. needs an older 'legend' type act to even things out lest it start looking like a TITP set of headliners

I do remember when Elbow were being discussed a potential headliner though, but I guess with them appearing in 2014 and Mumfords in 2013 the likelihood of them appearing is pretty low.

The heritage factor does seen to be lacking in that trio of headliners.

But...to be honest though seeing Biffy Clyro step up to the plate would be absolutely phenomenal! At Reading they owned it, and I couldn't help think that the final frontier would be smashing a Pyramid Headliner. I definitely think that they will headline one day. And being a fellow rock musician I can only respect their hard work on production and songwriting skills to work up from literally no where to everywhere.

jesus those were dark days when Elbow were being predicted to headline. fuck. that.

as has been discussed to death on here, i just think Biffy's time has passed. they probably could've done it a couple of years ago (but did Reading/Leeds instead) but now it just seems like that ship has sailed (and Neil's whispers of the organisers apparently thinking Biffy are too small to headline seems to back this up)

Biffy's chances depend on the success of their next album really. I don't think they'll do it in 2016 but if the album's a success they could do it in the future.

i think it will inevitably reach one in the charts and have success in that respect, but i just can't see Biffy releasing a particularly critically acclaimed / massively successful album again (although i'd absolutely love them to prove me wrong and do just that). if Opposites proved anything, it's that they're stuck in a bit of a rut sound-wise - so much of that album sounded the same. it really didn't need to be a double album

I like Coldplay more than most people on here and would be happy enough with them headlining but I'd much rather see Radiohead headlining again. Can't say I've got high hopes for the new Coldplay album though given how dull the last one was and that the new song they played live the other day is somehow even duller.

i don't dislike Coldplay. A Rush Of Blood To The Head and Viva La Vida are two great albums imo. but i've just got no real interest in seeing them headline, and with them being the Glastonbury house headliner over the last decade i'm sure others feel the same. 2011 just seems too recent in memory (much like 2005 did then, and 2002 did before that)
