Lovely!

Crayfish Bobs was alright I thought on price. Great food. Think it was £8 for a gumbo. A large bowl too. Warmed the cockles as I listened to Alison Moyet.

Brother in law and I got to Bob's one night in '13 just as they were about to close, so as well as the standard bowl of gumbo we got the last of their shrimps before they closed for the night, lovely people.

Also got treated to the sight of my pished BIL trying to explain to the young lady the MIckey Flanagan gag about "comin' in yer 'aahse". To which Bob stuck his head out from behind the kitchen and made the point that she wouldn't let him do that. I repeat, lovely people.

I know bob and therefore get free/vastly reduced food, i didn't eat there much last year as i wanted to try a bit of everything around the site but i would happily the £8 for the gumbo as its so large/filling it fills you up for hours on end. Delicious, too.

mmmmmmmmmmmm gumbo

decent gumbo really is the fucking nicest food you can get. I will make sure to try said gumbo!

I had it for breakfast on the Sunday in 2013, that and a cider proper sorted me out

Me and the wife shared it with bobs surf and turf which was boiled crayfish, a large spicy sausage and spicy rice, between 2 it was well worth the money as we got loads

If we're talking proper coffee - espresso from ground beans there is a good stall just to the right of West Holts that does good fresh coffee

In Williams Green (I think) is Green Brownie which does fab organic chocolate brownies and fresh coffee too. They sell the Tim Peaks coffee produced by Tim Burgess

Food wise I do like the Children's World cafe by the caberet tent. Do a good bacon, sausage and egg roll to start the day and its a lot cheaper than most stalls. Bonus is the money raised goes to Children's World charity which is local to Glastonbury and helps children in poverty or with life limiting conditions

I'm aware that I'm practically on my own thinking this, and I promise I'm not being contrary for the sake of it, but espresso based coffee is bitter pish in my humble opinion. Filter coffee all the way!!

Do you mean all the mochas and macchiattos etc. Yep. Best coffee I've ever had was in a (real) coffee shop in Amsterdam. I used the Italian stove top device, but got given an Aeropress which is good, but all my coffee is short and black. I dread UK cafés' filter coffee.

shame it misses off my 3 favourite bars.

Well, we can't have that now can we?! Dm me the ones you like and I'll add it on! From what I can remember I got those by piecing together various sources so was never gonna be perfect I'm afraid

Don't know if anyone's already posted this, but the coffee in the Greenpeace Cafe (opposite the showers) was tip-top last year. I can't remember which roaster it was from but it was one I recognised, and the barista was doing a really good job.

(Christ, that makes me sound like some kind of festival snob. I'm happier with a can of warm cider and a shit portion of noodles, honest...)

That's a lie, nobody has ever being happy after eating those shit noodles.

I was a little disappointed to find many food stalls were shut until the Friday last year. Does anyone have any specific Wed/Thurs tips?

Can't say I've noticed that happening, especially not the past few 5 or so years since most people started arriving Wednesday.

What time were you looking on the Wednesday roughly? Most places will be open although maybe not until the afternoon / evening.

Meanwhile on the Thursday, the only places I'd expect to stay shut are some of the places that direct serve the major stages, especially Pyramid / Other - ie not the places that many people are going to recommend.

Williams Green was definitely in full swing on Wednesday/Thursday last year, so were most of the main markets & Greenfields. Didn't head up to The Park but I assume that was much the same.

The park was in full flow on the Wednesday, we had the lebenese meze from there, great first meal of the festival

Anything espresso based really. I just find it bitter and unsatisfying.

I rarely eat aside from breakfast but on the odd occasion I have I'd recommend one called Ken's Barbi, to the right of Other Stage (right as in when you're facing it), tremendous steak or salmon

First meal was there in 2013, steak and cheese sandwich, I've never seen a slab of feta like it on a steak sarnie before, it was amazing
