The ground needs to be stable to allow the cherry pickers to operate at height. With all the ground work they've been carrying out combined with the rain, there's going to be some uneven ground conditions. Track way will help create a more stable platform.

I wondered if the delay vs last year was to allow the ground inside the pyramid to get some sun / air and dry out a little more.
