A good way to grasp the size is to Google earth it, zoom in from the size of the planet, it makes it seem small in comparison to the earth but when you see it come into view its still bloody massive!

Is it always that link or does it change for each update?

I tried to test this theory by trying 878 instead of 879 and found myself looking at a nice holiday resort for 5 minutes.
