Your online marketing experience with festivals

Hey guys, so I've been following this forum for a while now as an unregistered user and it has helped me a lot in getting information about festivals before I went there. You're really a great community! :) Now I've finally decided to sign up, because my study has presented me with a major problem field for which I would like to hear your opinion and could also need your help:

From my experience, usually people have a more negative opinion when it comes to the way that marketing has an impact on their life: Annoying commercials interrupting us when watching our favourite TV shows or pop ups blocking our websites. However, I noticed that when it comes to festivals presented to me via an online advertisement, I am actually happy to open suggestions on my Facebook feed or to just follow a banner for a festival I dont know yet. Do you guys feel the same? Or do you mostly only focus on information you get from friends or other people and just ignore such ads?

To investigate further into this topic connecting online marketing and music festivals, I decided to write my bachelor thesis about this topic. If you think these two fields are interesting and if you have 5 minutes to spare, I would really appreciate it if you could fill out my survey under this link:

Of course I understand if you dont want to be bothered by this. I know how boring it can be to fill out surveys.. However, my survey is about festivals after all, something that we all can relate to a lot I hope ;) Also, if you dont want to spend another 5 minutes after reading this ;) , I am still interested in any opinions I get within this thread as well. :)

Very much appreciated guys.
Party on!

I filled it out, but I'm not sure you'll get responses from here that are representative of most festival goers.

For a start, I think lots of people here use efests as a major source, and use social media sites much less than most will.

Thanks a lot for your help and input! :) It doesnt have to be completely representative, mostly it is about getting the opinion from people. If a lot of you are only using efestivals only, it just shows the "acceptance" of online advertisement/usage in this community, so its fine :)

Filled it in also, mostly down to the effort shown in your first post, but the survey seems similarly well put together, best of luck with your endeavours.

And also thank you very much for your input! Makes me glad to hear that you found the survey to be of better quality. ;) If I expect you guys to spare some of your time, then I also should put some effort into getting you interested, right ;)

Done but I'm probably not a lot of help as I hate and avoid social media, apart from this EFests Discussion Forum (if that counts).

Good luck.

You definitely are of help, thank you so much!! :) I can put every response I get into context ;)
