Royal mail have lost our tickets

Went back to the sorting office for one more try before I contacted See... They found it! It seems they only unloaded the returns van yesterday. So it took 6 days for it to be returned back to the office. Grrrr.

Phew! At least you've got it now. What a hassle. But I have to agree that DX were far, far worse than Royal Mail.....

DX were shocking! I remember taking the day off work to wait for them, having a run on the treadmill at my parent's house and suddenly the dog starts going berserk.

I got off the treadmill, opened the front door to see the delivery guy reversing off the drive - he'd not even bothered knocking! The dog had heard the car and saw him walk to the door before he turned round and went to drive off - thankfully I got them there and then. Utterly useless.

Painless this year for me, with Royal Mail :)

Still no ticket here. Australia Post are now reduced to advising I should "keep my fingers crossed". Customs advised they're not holding anything back for me in my name, and given it's the size of a letter, it should just sail through. There's clearly a problem but AP don't want to know. I'll wait until Thursday/Friday next week then ask See to re-issue. I hope they'll do that rather than make me trudge to a collection point.

How incredibly frustrating.

DX are useless, that's true. I had forgotten about them. I also HATE how delivery folk don't ring the bell, knock the door or even kick on it.. and just post through the card. It is part of there job to deliver items - not to drive back to a collection office. If I'm paying for delivery - you bloody well deliver it to me!

My tracker states my tickets have been delivered this week, I have been away all week with no one in to sign for them. The signature proof is just a drawn straight line???? I hope I'll be able to track them down when I get home tomorrow, they could be anywhere I guess.....

Your postman might have signed for them and put them through the door? Which obviously they shouldn't do, but it happens occasionally.

^^^^ think this must've happened, fortunately the signed for (drawn line) tickets were just put through letterbox (I'll have words with the postie), tickets now in safest of safe places, breathe in.....breathe out....

Glad you have got them. I bumped into our postman yesterday and he has got a disciplinary hearing over losing a special delivery item. They take it quite seriously by the sounds of things.

I recently complained to Royal Mail about the postman forging my signature on a signed for item and putting it through my letter box in the communal area in my block of flats. I was in at the time and he neither rang the bell or knocked on my door. Royal Mail have refunded me the delivery cost. Personally I think more people should make a fuss as it's not the service that was paid for and there is sometimes a lot at stake! It's obviously a behaviour thats endemic throughout the organisation.

Ouch, but as Bubblecup mentions, that's what people are paying for (and 135,000 times the postage costs is no small amount).

What an absolute nightmare! I'm sure all will be fine in the end but not really the stress you need in the lead up to the festival, personally I'd be spitting feathers.

Edit: I'm stressing enough with having to wait to get the tickets from the coach bloke when I get onto said coach, ultimately I know it will be fine but I can't help running nightmarish scenarios through my head so I can't imagine how you are feeling.

Well, after phoning Australia Post for the umpteenth time to be told that Australian Customs haven't given them the ticket for delivery, and phoning Australian Customs who tell me they haven't got it, and trudging to the post office just in case it's there and I don't know it, to be told it's not... I'm biting the bullet and accepting that between the lot of them, my ticket has been lost or stolen.

I've sent See a message through their website just now, explaining the situation, and asking what my options are. I'm expecting them to arrange collection at the box office, which is annoying but fine. I don't know where that is other than 'near Gate A' and I don't know how that effects my queueing plans (I intend to arrive at about 5am), but I've also sent an email to GF to enquire about that.

Strangely, I'm not too panicked. I'm confident that See will sort it out as above. I'm more anxious that I'll hit a scenario like 'box office has been relocated' or 'doesn't open until 10am' or something. Above all, I'm just disappointed not to have received a ticket as I should, and as I paid £7.50 to do, and to have missed out on that part of the excitement this year.

I presume because its international they don't put a Royal Mail tracker on it ?

Royal Mail track it until it leaves the UK, which is almost straight away, so their tracking doesn't help me now. However, using their tracking number, Australia Post can access internal scans that show where it's up to. They have no internal scans of it whatsoever, so their conclusion is that customs never handed it to them for delivery. See do have the option of international signed and tracked, but they don't use it.

I would expect in this case for See to print a replacement and leave for you to pick up. Hope you get it all sorted. :)

When I was waiting for tickets in 2013 (Australia delivery) they arrived on about the 17th June from memory... just 5 days before we left the country.

Very nerve-wracking, and though we didn't get around to organising the logistics of box office pick up, I think that might have been where it was heading

An update for all those of you sitting on the edge of your seat worrying about what's happening to my ticket. It still hasn't arrived so I called See on Tuesday. The person I spoke with was really helpful and said it would be passed to the team who handle this kind of scenario. That was the last I heard from See. I guess that team don't feel it appropriate to update the person who's paid them for safe delivery of their ticket with what's happening. I called back on Thursday and was told they're raising it with Royal Mail, and the 'worst case scenario' (also the most likely as far as I'm concerned) would be a ticket waiting for me at the box office collection.

An added complication is that the ticket was paid for by my housemate's credit card so provision of the card used for the purchase won't be possible. I haven't broached that one yet.
