What's efestivals opinion on Modestep?

I can't make my mind up about this band. Their typical song seems to have a happy pop sounding dance bit then a cliched dubstep break down with the occasional guitar solo thrown in.

It all seems very formulaic, but despite that I find myself really liking them. Not sure if the novelty would wear off after a few songs seeing them live, but they look good in this video at Reading.

Just wondered the efestivals concensus was. Only starting to listen to them, but they may become a guilty pleasure for me

I actually meant to post this in the main forum, though suppose it vaguely belongs here since it's a question, really shouldn't post after drinking Jack Daniels!

Just asked my girlfriend her opinion, she said she was distracted by the fact it looked like Joey Essex accidentally joined a metal band, but other than thought they were good.

The new album has a variety of genres - big bass dubstep, stripped back dubstep (definite nod to Burial in places), metal, rock through to Garage / 2step.

They are exceptional live. Really pack the tunes in, so you'll never get bored. In their 2013 tour, they were machine gunning nearly 40 tunes in 100 minutes... with samples and reworks of plenty of dance classics alongside their own material.

If you go and see them, I'd be very surprised if you'd be disappointed.

cheers for feedback. Only listened to a few of their songs on sir brave robbin's spotify playlist. Will need to take time to listen to the album. Feel like I've got so much music to listen to and so little time now Glastonbury is approaching
