Anyone arrive around midday on Wednesday last year?

Just trying to figure best time to rock up on Wednesday. I'm hoping all the eager beavers will have filtered in by about midday on Wednesday leaving me to breeze in unhindered...or am I having a bubble?

Did anyone turn up around midday on the Wednesday last year - and if so how did you get on?

(btw probably coming through Gate A)

Apparently those arriving by coach/shuttle bus are given priority at gate A - there's a separate queue from the car parks. This might affect the answers you'll get, but it sounds like minimal queuing at 1pm (although I've arrived around that time a few years back and seem to remember a 20-30 minute wait). FWIW I arrived at 11am last year by coach and had a 30 minute queue as well.

Arrived at Gate D at about midday last year and walked straight in. Arrived at midday the year at Gate B and walked straight in.

Will maybe arriving a bit earlier due to current travel arrangements but will hopefully be a similar story.

It gives you enough time to get your stuff on to and across site and then start sinking a few before going to the efests meet for 6pm. It's the perfect flight path. :)

Bang on!

When I first went in the year 2000 I rocked up on the Thursday evening, the following year (which I think was 2002), I went on the Wednesday and the site was partially empty. A few years later - I think it was 2007 - the year of the 'Brown Out', I queued in traffic from the M5 to the site and took the whole day to get in.

Basically what I'm getting at here is that its good that I can rock up on Wednesday unhindered again - albeit the site is now rammed.

I've never queued at the gates for very long, getting to site on the other hand has varied massively over the years. Last year we arrived around 1pm, no traffic, no queue, it was like a dream. Camp sites were busy though, ended up at furthest point possible from where we were parked in South Park 1 as that's where there was still plenty of space.

What's the traffic like as you approach in Wednesday morning? Always travelled overnight before

It's a bit stop starty as they manage the flow with some traffic lights at certain points. But generally it's pretty steady.... unless there are accidents etc

Better than it used to be then? In 2010 I got off the M5 at around 10:00am on the Wednesday and it took 5 hours to get to the site....nightmare!!!

Was stuck in that queue in 2010 too. Since they started opening the car parks overnight the queuing to get into the carparks has been fine. Usually starts somewhere between glastonbury town and the festival site. The queue has now moved to on foot to get into the gates.

To those driving in on the Wednesday morning - were you parked miles away? Some of our group are going on the Tuesday night but some of the group have coach tickets from Taunton at 9.30 on the Wednesday morning and we are contemplating whether to go on the Tuesday night, or drop the guys off at Taunton for their coach on the Wednesday and then head over but from previous experience we have ended up being parked miles away back in 2010 and 2013 going on the Wednesday compared to when we went on the Tuesday night in 2013 and 2014 so just wondered other people's experiences? We will be going in Gate D

Always arrive on Wednesday am Normally end up in the pinks (so on the other side if the road) except last year when we managed to go directly into yellow car park... looking back at what's app were parked up at 9.30 am.

So I really think it's luck of the draw...
