First time at Glastonbury

This is mine and my wife's first time at Glastonbury. I've been reading lots of the posts, but been a total novice I'll still don't know what to expect. We have a CV parking ticket and thinking of arriving early Wednesday morning.

Could anyone help with suggestions on what we will need, what to expect, etc.

I know we have no chance of seeing everything on our first visit, any must do's would be great fully received.

Thanks in advance

You can't see it all and don't try. Forget the music - that will happen anyway but make the most of Wednesday and Thursday by visiting some of the outlying areas like the Green Fields. Make sure you've got decent walking shoes and prepare to put in 10 or 12 miles a day.

My advice is just go with the flow. You'll be so blown away by what you see when you get there that your plans will probably fly out the window pretty quickly anyway! The walk in from the CV fields is a bit of a trek so make use of the lock ups during the day to save you having to go back to get extra layers, drinks etc.

As grumpyhack says, don't have a strict schedule for seeing bands. Pick some that you wouldn't be that fussed about missing and then you won't have the arse with yourselves if you don't make it to all of them. It sounds daft but it can be stressful if you have a plan to be in lots of places at certain times and then Glastonbury decides to stop that happening. Accept that whatever you end up doing is part of Michael's plan and you'll have the best few days of your lives.

My one thing to do would be head up to the Glastonbury letters above the park and just sit there with your favourite beverage and take in the view. Your eyes just won't believe what they are seeing, Oh and if you can make a sunrise at the Stone Circle, that's a definite.

Enjoy! :-)

Nothing will ever beat the first time you see the site, queue amongst like minded people, get in, set up and realise you made it. Enjoy everything.

As per the previous posters, maybe plan one or two things that you definitely want to see or do.

Other than that, explore, get involved, sit and relax and have the best time ever. Spending 7 hours at a drumming circle is not something I'd planned, but this happened the first time I went.

+1 For all the above.

Also do listen to as much music as possible before the festival.

There are Spotify playlists just for Glastonbury 2015.

Use the EE app as a very loose guide.

Make friends and talk to randoms. We don't bite!!

Enjoy x

Think about arriving Tuesday! Presume you are in the East....

Time to set up, say hello to the neighbours, explore the cv fields a little, have a look at the view near the Hill of Death then chill for the evening! That extra time seems to add a lot!!!

Enjoy!
