Re: The 1975 (only just caught up on the last dozen or so pages) I've mentioned on here a couple of times in the past that my uncle, who is as close to to the Healey family as it's possible to get without being a blood relative, casually dropped into conversation with me at a family get together in December 2019 that The 1975 has been asked to headline in 2021. He is someone that doesn't understand how big a deal it is to leak info such as this, and only mentioned it to me as he knew I was a regular Glasto attendee. Obviously with both 2020 and 2021 being cancelled this didn't happen but, I'm sure there must be an element of honouring that initial offer with them rumoured to be headlining this year. Especially given they toured the arse off their most recent album in the UK including x2 nights at the O2 in January 2023, a huge Finsbury Park show that same summer, followed by 4 more O2 shows in Feb 2024. And that's just London. By any stretch of the imagination they are bigger than they were when they got that initial offer and are big enough to headline now. Especially when you consider the multiple R&L headline shows in quick succession. I went to see their Finsbury Park show and even though I've always thought Matt Healey is a prize bellend, that show was a two hour masterclass in stadium indie-pop. The crowd was a really eclectic mix, from screaming teenage girls all the way up to couples in their 50s. For example I was there (43yrs old) with my 16yr old son and 4 of his female friends, along with my mate the same age as me who went in blind not knowing a single song, and traditionally only listens to classic rock and metal. He absolutely loved every minute of it. The only thing I find strange is the timing of it, considering they've only just wrapped up a mammoth 2 year world tour less that a year ago. I would have thought that it would have been a far more viable option when they are back with a new album ready to go (which might still happen between now and June) but with no other festival appearances rumoured, and no sign of new music at all, the timing of them headlining Glasto just seems off. (Cue them announcing a new single and album to be released in September!) -
I love sh*t like this, unless it's from the likes of Trump/Starmer/Farage/(all Tories) which is probably hypocritical but I don't care because I love sh*t like this.

So... when do you "believe" we will have a lineup announcement? 🙂

Well let's hope future stuff is better informed. No NIN actually helps me lol. -

I would watch Paul Heaton over most of the lineup myself so can't disagree with you. That's as well as I had to mistake him at Glastonbury last time as clashes and all that.
