didn't one of Liverpool or Everton start up by falling out with one of the other club.

I'm sure it was Everton.

I don't think its embarrassing, supporters who wasn't happy the way the club was run. Started one up themselves and its going great for them, faur play to them. I very much doubt the head bods at United are worrying to much.

Man United are of the size that they know they can lose a relatively tiny amount of fans and someone will take their place.  Im not sure I see FC United and Salford in competition for fans at present.  I would have thought most who were disenfranchised enough to jump ship have gone to FC united and those who have jumped will have that sense of ownership and arent going to just switch to Salford because Giggsy is on board or they are spending more money.

To the Scottish fans on here Wrexham have had a couple of Scottish players that went back to the Scottish league and I have lost track of.  Jamie Mclusky and Jordan Mcmillan, I heard the latter had failed a drugs test, anyone seen either and how were they rated.  I wasnt impressed with either to be honest.

DomDom would be able to tell you more about Jamie McCluskey since he was with Morton last season but I've never been that impressed by him. Can't remember him having a particularly great season for any club up here and he's been with quite a few.

McMillan was a solid full back for Dunfermline and Partick in the Championship and even did ok for Partick in the Premiership. As you say he failed a drugs test last year and as a result was banned for two years, although I think he's only got a year or so left on that.

McCluskey looked to me that he had some talent hidden away, but never did anything with it.  Definitely not conference level in my view.  Mcmillan was a random loan signing, why Rangers were sending players to north wales on loan I havent got a clue, he came and went and was quickly forgotten.

I'm sure it was Everton.

How can a team fall out with the other if it hasn't started up yet? :P

There was a falling out prior to the formation of Liverpool but it was between Everton and the owner of Anfield, where Everton played. This led to Everton leaving and the owners forming Liverpool to play in the vacant stadium.

From wiki:

After winning the league for the first time, the Everton Committee and President John Houlding became embroiled in deep and bitter conflict. Houlding originally rented Anfield from the Orrell family and sublet to Everton FC. In 1885 Houlding bought the land from Orrel and rented directly to Everton FC. The Liberal-leaning committee viewed Tory councillor Houlding as having a personal financial and political agenda and there was disagreement over the club's business model and the issue of selling refreshments, to which Houlding had sole rights. Houlding had increased the club's rent by 150% after the 1889–90 season to £250 per annum. John Orrell, who owned the adjacent land, then attempted to legally run a road through the new main stand to access his land. This would require Everton to buy both Anfield and Orrell's land or to rent both. Everton committee members accused Houlding of knowing of the legal right of way and allowing the new stand to be built. The committee wanted Houlding to negotiate on the combined Anfield and Orrell's land rent of £370 or the purchase of both, but were told the rental fee was non-negotiable. Houlding refused to give Everton FC a contractual rental lease.

Houlding attempted to hijack the club by registering another company, Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds, Ltd.in March 1892. Everton were still occupying and playing at Anfield, Houlding sought to take over Everton's fixtures and position in the Football League. The Football Council would not recognise Houlding's new company as Everton, resulting in his changing the name to Liverpool F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd in June 1892, creating Liverpool F.C. The distrust between Houlding and the Everton Committee resulted in Everton abandoning their substantial ground at Anfield and moving to Goodison Park on the north side of Stanley Park. Everton played their last match at Anfield on 18 April 1892.

I'm wondering if part of the motivations behind Salford is to try and take the wind out of FC Utd .... after all, FC Utd's success will be Man Utd's embarrassment.

Swansea. Monk is going to be sacked today, apparently.

Not going to happen yet. Although if we lose to Bournemouth at home in a fortnight, there will be serious questions asked.

I wouldn't believe anything you read in the Mirror when it comes to Swansea, they tend to not get on with our club. Notice there's no quotes in that article...

I'll believe the word of local journalists with actual links to the club: http://www.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk/Garry-Monk-staying-Swansea-City-despite-sacking/story-28140844-detail/story.html?

I thought McMillan looked ok in our time with us but nothing special. Mclusky looked very poor.

Two good sides on display at the Boleyn on Saturday. Entertaining and hard fought game, draw a fair reflection I thought.

One downer was McCarthey's poor poor challenge on Payet. We're going to miss him undoubtedly. Big blow. It's fortunate we have the strongest squad I can remember for quite a while.

How bad are sakho and valencia's injuries also? Reliant on the ever-reliable big AC now?

I really liked the balance your side has/had with Payet, Moses and Lanzini (who is also a great find - and hasn't been praised enough) behind the lone striker.

Sakho will be back for the next game against Tottenham, which will mean Carroll back on the bench I'd guess. Valencia's injury is worse I believe.

Agree with you re Lanzini - he's been at least as influential as Payet - just hope the rumoured agreed option to buy at £7m is true.

Hammers will obviously miss Payet, but with the likes of Lanzini, Moses, Zarate, Kouyate, a returning Song and Sakho they still have pace and ability in there. And with the plan B option of Carroll they are still a big threat to all teams.

Well we've taken 1 point from 6 with Payet. Now we've lost him for a few months I guess I should be steeling myself for the inevitable and impending relegation battle....

he's also scored you a fair few goals, which you'll miss.

:rollsthemback: That depends on how well his replacement does, and how well the team adapts without him.

Zarate is a possible replacement - he has 2 goals from his 3 league starts thus far this season.

Well, unless you have one of the best squads in the country I think it's unlikely that you'll be getting nearly a goal every two games out of the replacement, but I wish you luck all the same. :)
