A Citeh fan calling Pellegrini "absolutely fucking useless" is absolutely fucking perplexing!

2 league cups; a league; the furthest Citeh have ever got in the CL; and the fucker has not even been there 3 years!

One would think fans who know relegation would know better. Cop the fuck on

Someone like Pep didn't do too bad being thrown in the deep end.  While people analyze different managers, I think that luck is a bigger factor than many would admit.  As for another name, how about Ranieri? I have a feeling he wont be at Leicester next season.

Unless one of the absolute top teams come in, Leicester will keep him.

I'm not convinced, how does he follow up winning a title with a team who will probably be ripped apart by the vultures. While the likes of Mahrez and kante will cash in their chips, I suspect the manager may as well.

Na - they'll win the European Cup next season with Ranieri in charge.

The players, like the manager, will be in the CL next season. Of course that might not be with Leicester but they will definitely be in that competition.

Can't see the players going cheap either, so it's going to be interesting to see who comes in with offers, and how far they're willing to go.

I doubt they'll be 'ripped apart'. The two you mentioned may go (although I suspect Champions League football and a new contract may persuade them to stay until January) but I can't see any others being in high demand. I know the media are circlejerking over Vardy and Drinkwater but who will be chasing them? Vardy is 29 with one good Premier League season, Drinkwater is the new Charlie Adam. If they go to a 'big' club they'll be squad fodder, and while there may be desperate and stupid clubs with money to burn (hello Newcastle, if you stay up) that could go for them but why would they there? Others like Schmeichel, Simpson, Huth and Albrighton have all contributed well to a team that is greater than the sum of it's parts but have failed to really impress in previous seasons and at previous clubs. I think that they might shed some squad players in order to give them space to upgrade but until they're out of the Premier League and back in the bottom half of the league the manager and players will probably stick together.

People seem to have had a pop at me saying Pellegrini is useless. I just want to highlight the dramatic downward trend since he came.

2013/14: This was his best year but was basically Mancini's team

W = 27, D = 5, L = 6, F = 102, A = 37, Total Point = 86,    Champs league = last 16

2014/15

W = 24, D = 7, L = 7, F = 83, A = 38, Total Point = 79,    Champs league = last 16

2015/16

W = 15, D = 6, L = 8, F = 52, A = 31, Total Point = 51 so far,    Champs league = Quarter final so far

So year on year since he arrived, we lose more games, we win less, we score less, we concede more and we get less points with each passing season. Added to that we have gone from having head and shoulders the best home record in the division to getting beat regularly (4 times in league so far this season).

Then there is the quality of football which has declined sharply since he came. His first season was magnificent but again that was Mancini's team. This season we have not beaten one top 6 team. The only decent team we have played in the Champs league were Juve this year and they beat us easily twice. His record in the champs league is apparently his strong point. On paper he has enabled us to get out the group stages. Yet look at the quality of teams who he has been lucky enough to come up against in the group stages. You can argue we have won the Carling Cup twice. Again look at the quality of team we have had to beat to win that. Every time we come up against a decent team with a decent manager he has not got a clue what to do and we get beat.

Compare the team he inherited to the one we have now and it is unrecognisable. We have spent £300 million to go backwards.

To the lad who stated his mates are City fans and they all prefer Pellegrini to Mancini, all I can say is that they are in the vast vast minority. The general consensus is that City fans can't wait for him to go and I will go as far as suggest 98% of all City fans prefer Mancini to Pellegrini. Manuel will be remembered as a nice man where as Mancini is thought of as a City legend.

People have suggested on here that we are ungrateful and spitting our dummy out. Just because we were shit 20 years does not mean we should accept it.

There is a sharp decline in our performance under Pellegrini as the stats and showings on the pitch clearly show. If you allow the rot to spread too far then the decline is steep. You just have to look at United now to appreciate that.

Useless is a bit strong, I think that's what people object to.

Pelligrini was the manager, it was Pelligrini's team. I doubt Mancini was still picking the team and tactics or motivating the players (or trying to). If you're relying on stats to try and prove how inferior he is then you can't use subjective slights to dismiss the stats if they go against your point, you have to accept that if they say Pelligrini did a decent job that season then he did a decent job that season.

Other than that what you say is perfectly reasonable, although it's only this season that there's been a significant drop-off (hardly a 'dramatic' downward spiral between his first and second years) that's a good enough reason for replacing a manager. If I remember correctly he was a pretty underwhelming choice anyway?

Out of interest what was Mancini's record like? Didn't he have a significant drop off in his last year? Would be interesting to see Mancini's last season compared to Pelligrini's first.

Going to be interesting what pep will do at city, city's important players are getting on a bit or injury prone.

Players like kompany, aguero, yaya, Silva etc etc. None of these have fired on all cylinders alot this season.

Probably more of a reason than pellegrini being poor.
