Sorry you're right, he wasn't sacked. He left. But the fans weren't happy for a lot of his time there.

Yeah that's what I was referring to - did he really deserve all that? Was he that bad or in retrospect would they have kept him compared to the two who replaced him?

Oh I'm sure they would have loved him back earlier this season.

Rafa seeing Madrid winning on Saturday must've been a slap in the face. Hes going down with Newcastle instead! "Fact" etc.

“Rafa sat down with his usual half-smile," said Gerrard. "It looked likely to be a normal press conference, but then he reached into his pocket for a piece of paper.

“He spread it out on the table and began to read out one ‘fact’ after another. Rafa kept saying ‘fact... fact... fact...’ and I could not believe what I was hearing. I was grabbing the couch, digging my fingers into the arms, feeling embarrassed for him.

“When I met up with England all the Manchester United players told me Fergie was just laughing at Rafa, saying: ‘I’ve got him. I’ve got him.’"

I said during his time as manager that pardew got treated harshly by fans. Never as good as the season where we finished 5th suggested, or the ridiculous 8 year contract, but never as bad as some made him out to be.

Like at all clubs, we have some nutty and ungrateful fans. The disdain for the board is what's justified.

Utd fans' ire towards Rafa. As sad as it is predictable.

Rafa getting under the skin of Utd fans years after the fact. As amusing as it is predictable.

Let it go dude. I know it's hard dealing with the slide into mediocrity but some days Liverpool aren't going to be the top story, it's OK.

Yes you spoke of his pay, but your initial belief that the FA are 'suckers' for paying him that much and the obviously incorrect assertion that Harry Redknapp would have done it for less seem to put the focus on him.

You were the one that brought Redknapp up.

I simply gave my opinion subsequently as to if he would have been a better choice than Hodggers and I think he would have. At the time he was having a lot more success than RH.

I also reckon had the FA any balls HR would have snapped the hand off them for the job. I have no idea what HR was on at Spurs, but he accepted 3m a year to manager QPR and thats potentially a more full on role than managing England. A chance to manage his country? Im pretty sure the proud Englishman could have done it for less than 5m.

Of course its impossible to be 100% sure what would have happened. The FA saw to that by making it a one horse race and as a consequence they way overpaid for what they got.

What I don't understand is why you're painting Redknapp as a loyal and devoted person (when history has shown him not to be) that would be willing to do the job for less than he could get (when history has shown that he may have a liking for money), while painting Hodgson as someone who has deliberately conned the FA into paying too much for his services, when there's nothing to indicate that at any point he's done that.

So is this Agbonlahor thing winner of the Stupidest Overreaction and Waste of Time, Money and Resources Award?

As they don't have enough to worry about they investigate a grown adult for using a shisha and drinking alcohol during a club-sanctioned holiday.

Sums them up over the last few seasons. They should be concentrating on keeping players and going straight back up next season. They're in real danger of doing a Bolton.

Sure isnt Roy also good for an aul gaff now and then? Slagging off his captains accent (and effectively the whole of Liverpool) and calling one of his players a monkey

Sure when at LFC he came out with something like "you dont play in the Europa to play against weak teams"
