Was in the Doug Ellis stand near the Holte end in 07 when Steven Gerrard scored that free kick to win the game 2-1 in the last few minutes for Liverpool.................Had to leave ASAP as some w*nker Villa fans were looking about for LFC fans to fight with. Real knackers they were. Got a bit nervous to be honest. One nasty fucker was going mental all over the stand. He even started hurling abuse at a kid (must have been about 7) who had an LFC top on and his Dad just picked him up and went down the stairs to get out of there as quick as.

I have little sympathy, and the dad was a bit of a twat too.

Yeah, its really acceptable and should be expected of people to be irate to the point where they mindlessly want to try and start fights with random strangers just because a man kicked a ball into a net.............

You broke the terms and conditions of entry. Probably knowingly.

You could have been told to leave before the match had even started.

Yeah, that makes it AOK for some knob heads to act like mindless twats.

But then I do forget that some football fans are a special breed of c**t and as such are responsible for such "terms and conditions of entry" to watch what is only a game.

Of course it doesn't make it ok.

I think segregation makes things worse not better.

However, you really have no right to complain given you've knowingly gone in a home area as an away supporter. Which, as we both know, you shouldn't have done.

If you're looking to get angry over special breeds of c**ts that are responsible for these terms and conditions I'd suggest you haven't got to look very far...

Dont think Im complaining here. Just pointing out that there is still neanderthals attending football matches who think its OK to act like total fuck bags. More of a warning to those wanting to attend an away game but the only ticket they can get is with the home support

Your attitude from your initial responses seems to be that if you break the terms of entry then you should expect to be exposed to or potentially be a target of such behaviour and its your own fault. A perverse thought in this day and age

Well it certainly sounds like you're complaining. Besides, would these Neanderthals have anything to get het up about if there weren't individuals like yourself and others showing themselves to be supporters of the opposition in home areas - contrary to the terms and conditions of the ticket that was sold to you?

Of course you would be partially responsible, you don't think so?!

Ha!

I was not wearing LFC attire myself and these individuals were aimlessly screaming and shouting for LFC fans to own up to who they were, as many in that stand cheered uncontrollably when the goal when in but quickly sat back on their hands.............anyway thats all by the by

You seem to have an attitude of "blame the victim" (if such a victim exists in reality in this case)

What if that little kid and his Dad got beat up for wearing red? Its their fault?

Are rape victims who wear sexy clothing and walk home on their own somewhat responsible too? But I suppose there is not terms and conditions been broke when you walk home on your own

Responsibility is a dangerous term when associated with victim blaming. Still, as someone who's been in the "wrong" end before, I reckon you have to be aware of the situation and moderate your actions and clothing to minimise any risks. Taking your son into the home stand wearing the away team shirt is stupid.

Ah so there you have it. Liverpool fans buying tickets in home areas en masse and not even following the etiquette when doing so. Then acting all outraged when home fans have the temerity to complain.

You wonder why you have a reputation...

Trying to make this an LFC thing is idiotic

And equating thugs going about trying to find opposition fans in a stand so as they can start fighting them to "complaining" even more so

Making this discussion about Liverpool, a discussion about away fans in home areas, in a specific example described by you in which the home team was Villa and the away team was Liverpool is idiotic?

What's idiotic, is away supporters buying tickets in home areas, wearing colours and cheering goals scored by the opposition, and then complaining of being victimised when home fans don't like your actions.

That is idiotic.

While I agree that people should obey the law. There needs to be a bit of common sense. If I knew an area was a hotspot for crime, I wouldn't walk through it showing off my wallet full of money.

If I went into an away stand, I know I need to stay quiet and if I jump around and get punched then I have to accept my share of the blame. If my child wanted to go to a game, I wouldn't take them in the away stand.

Im not a huge fan of the league cup, to me it just comes across as the poo relative of the FA cup. I think the FA cup has lost some of its appeal in recent years and they would be better off getting one right, than dping a mediocre job with 2. If they are going to keep the league cup I feel they need to do something to distinguish it more from the FA cup, maybe look at the format or the draw.

But why though? Is this because the 'big teams' (who of course are the only teams who matter out of the entire league pyramid because they play in a competition where the same teams make the final rounds every year) don't take it seriously, call it the Mickey Mouse cup, the media continue this and therefore it damages the reputation? And is the fa cup losing its magic because it's not United / Liverpool / Chelsea / arsenal / city in the final every year?
