He hasn't rode out a crisis like this.

yes he has - the first 4 months of last season.

It's still less than 4 months of playing shit when the closed season is ignored - and there's stuff out of his hands like the Sterling wants out strop in the mix with that.

When he took over first and was losing it was obvious he was changing the way they played so could leverage on that. Then he had Suarez, then it was "oh but hes lost Suarez" and now......

except your myth is missing the fact that he had Suarez when he took over and Suarez hadn't been playing anything like Rodgers got him playing. Or Sturridge, come to that.

He's not Moaniho or Fergie, but this idea he's utter shit only really comes from Utd fans willing him to fail. It's mostly bollocks that ignores the facts.

I suspect that if he started at a stable top-4 club with a decent top 4 squad he'd be out-performing the likes of LvG.

If you want to see over-rated see LvG!

"Character, outstanding" etc etc and the fans wanting him out.

It's still really only a small number that want him out. From what I've read from fans most are happy to give him the season.

He talks a lot of bollocks, true, but so does Mareen, red nose, Moyes, LvG, and any other manager trying to talk up a team that's underperforming.

Utd fans want him to stay! Don't want Klopp or Ancelotti there. They're good!

Im just speaking about the way he deals with the media. Hasn't helped himself, probably too honest and looks a little lost lately. Much like Moyes. And LFC fans have sensed it.

Brendan is great when things are going well, and he can stroke the players faces and tell them how wonderful they are.

He's never come under such intense scrutiny as he currently is. I hope he manages to turn it around, because he's a good manager and a good person to-boot.

He really needs a win against Villa, mind you...

Utd fans want him to stay!

yep, that's what they always say AFTER they've gone on about how shit he is and that he should be sacked.

If you read the comments below Guardiuan arrticles, you can see this exact thing play out every single time from Utd fans.

But very little of the same from Liverpool fans.

Utd fans are trying to create a failure myth, probably to hide their own shortcomings.

Moaniho deals with the media in a much worse way when feeling under pressure. Moyes & Fergie too. But let's just pretend Brenda is the worst ever, yeah?

It is deteriorating, but mostly cos the media are on his back which is making him feel the pressure. A few good wins and its gone again.

It's as transient as the team's form might be.

A couple of good wins and the pressure could be off yeah but can you see that happening with the run they have coming up?

Fergie was superb at dealing with the media when the pressure was on. Batten down the hatches, siege mentality, "fuck you" etc. And it works.

THIS is how you deal with the press.

"you and your paper can fuck off"

And it works. Shankly did it, Clough did it, Sacchi did it, Madrid do it etc etc

Yep, I could. It can come right in any next game, he just has to hit the right combination of players.

But, i think, he's probably gonna be knobbled with whatever he tries while Hendo is out (no idea when he's back), as i believe he's been their most creative player in recent times (could be wrong, but i've seen it said).

Fergie got an easy ride for many years, but the press were less likely to let him off towards the end.

But also, he was a complete c**t, banning the disliked from being able to ask him questions - and don't forget all the years he ducked BBC interviews (I know that was for different reasons, but it meant he didn't get equal scrutiny).

I don't think Rodgers has been banning journos yet, has he?

Liverpools par position is 5th, they are currently 2 points from that position.  Its only a crisis if you are setting unrealistic expectations.

Yep.

And Nal has just mentioned the games coming up suggesting they're tough (they're not, particularly), while the opening few matches WERE tough.

They've had a slow-ish start for all of the last three seasons (including this one), and got going a bit down the line. On past performance there's not really any reason to panic or think he won't get them ticking sometime soon-ish.

If the next few games go badly he'll perhaps be out, but if they're much the same as so far this season I won't see why he should be, particularly, tho of course we don't know what promises he might have made the board or what the board's expectations are of him.

To me the bolded part is key.  I suspect the boards expectations are top 4, in my view they arent spending enough money to justify that expectation.  Even if it is unrealistic if Brendan is fired he gets a big payday and probably another chance at a mid table premiership side.

If Klopp is available and willing to come, I would probably take the gamble.  He may have more options in the summer and I think he is worth the risk. I wouldnt sack for the sake of sacking though.

Word is that Klopp aint happening and has not been approached thus far, but they have approached Ancelotti. They released a statement saying they have not approached Ancelotti for legal reasons (theres someone in that job currently) and if he knocks em back they "save face". They have not felt the need to do the same with Klopp, which could be telling

The belief is let him be for the moment and see if he makes enough rope with the current form running into the fixtures coming up. Also there is no point getting rid of now only for your new manager to have the "tough run" greeting him.

Nothing to do with the fact that if Rodgers has been buying turds as some like to suggest that no one can polish them?

And that things might go even worse with someone else in charge?

Or that Ancellotti's recent record is worse than Rodgers?

I reckon some are getting ahead of themselves.

Yep, for me there has only really been the Norwich result that is a really "bad" one. Yes historically the West Ham result looks bad but the Hammers are doing something decent this season so an underperforming LFC should not really be shocked at that result. OK performances have lacked, put had they but Norwich away like they should then they are up there in joint 5th with Arsenal. A par positioning for a club that spends at that level as someone around here may say! ;)

This is very much driven by hysteria and idiots in the media.
