Sterling isn't the changing room though, is he? He's one player who was particularly young and had the whole world at his feet, he's hardly going to be unhappy is he? 

 

The stories about Rodgers losing the dressing room all started around the same time as the Sterling strop kicked off properly. It's hard to think the two are not related.

For what it's worth... I liked Brendan, he was fantastic in 2013/14 but then lost his way badly. He was now not getting the best out of that squad. Sadly, the right decision.

 

That run in 2013/14 was ultimately fruitless, but the most fun I've had watching football. I wish him all the best wherever he ends up.

 

It's been said on here, Liverpool fans need to start being realistic with there lot nowadays.

Also will be interesting if Liverpool give klopp time to put his stamp on the club. He didn't start getting success until his 3rd season at Dortmund.

 

Think people have been quite realistic really. Nobody's expecting the league but Liverpool should have challenged stronger for the CL last season and probably should have won something in the last three years. I can't honestly say I think the team look closer to doing that this season. The team are playing a lot worse than they were 18 months ago and there have been some shocking results in that period. 

 

Big fanbase, comfortable finances... why shouldn't the club expect something better than midtable? When fans pay £50-£60 to watch football matches why should fans be happy to do nothing.

 

The problems of course go deeper than Rodgers, but don't think the club have been unduly unrealistic or harsh.

Also no idea why non-Liverpool fans would prefer them in Europe over West Ham, etc. If West Ham have finished above Liverpool over a whole season they're a better team, and so would be more interesting to have in Europe.

It's not non Liverpool fans saying that is it?

They've picked up as many European trophies as Man Utd in the last 15 years.

Has anyone involved with their current squad ever been successful in Europe? Their last CL performance leads me to believe they won't be particularly impressive in Europe at the moment.

I'm asking why Wooderson seems to be suggesting we shouldn't all want West Ham, etc., in those places. I'd rather them than Liverpool if they prove themselves to be a better team.

I'd prefer teams that look to use Europa spots to actually do something in the competition, to get into the competition.
