It's pretty decent actually. Seems to have a bit more 'umph' than their last few releases.

Can you imagine what they'd be like subbing the pyramid with a large pissed up crowd, especially a crowd already pumped after Motörhead. the energy at the other stage in '13 was electric and that was after a drab beady eye performance at 11am.

If Phonics played they would absolutely piss all over any act that day and the majority of the weekend. They are phenomenal live, and with the tunes they have to put into an hour+ slot it'd be incredible. How anyone can criticize them is quite simply laughable. Their first two albums are breathtaking, and granted they haven't reached the heights of those two since, they've still produced handfuls of great tracks.

 

Now I'm unnecessarily excited that they'll be asked, when they won't, at all! Please stop suggesting amazing bands

How can anyone criticize them? Lets start with they're the most boring band I've ever seen. Ever. And I've seen Cast. Twice.

Bartender and the Thief, T-shirt Sun Tan, A Thousand Trees, More Life in a Tramp's Vest, Local Boy, Dakota, Innocent, are not boring tunes. They have a lot of ballad/slower tracks with incredible lyrics still such as Same Size Feet, Traffic etc., but like I said, for an hour slot on the Pyramid, they would play a majority heavy set and piss on most acts.

I fully appreciate that everyone has their opinions, they're entitled to them. Doesn't mean I can't find them laughable.

 

I've always thought Kelly Jones comes across as a really sound bloke to be honest when I've heard him. Maybe you've got more reason to think otherwise or have heard more than me.

Haha don't feel sorry for someone liking a band mate, that's pretty sad. Their first two albums are excellent. They are technically good live. His lyrics are good. His voice is powerful and he sings in good tune. I wouldn't say they're in my top 10 favourite but they're still a great live act and put on a great show. As I said, tell me a couple of better rock acts who are at Glasto next week?

Man, I've had the worst luck in terms of cancelled bands in last two years. Whole festival cancelled Nov 13, Blur cancelled Jan 14 (Big Day Out - interestingly refunds were offered if replacement bands were not to your taste), Rolling Stones cancelling twice last year at same bastard venue and now this. I'm due some good luck and Hives and Foals fans, I'm prepared to share it with you, if wishes come true! :-D
