I don't mind Florence now headlining but I feel like I've lost the two and a half hours I was most looking forward to on the friday and nothing has made up for that loss yet.

What I find a bit odd is that there is still that huge gap between Motorhead & FloMa where I would have expected to see a TBA ?

 

So maybe it's not yet guaranteed that there will be another act inserted there ?

Surely they need SOMETHING in there just to draw some crowds away from the other stages?  Even a small pyramid crowd (10-15k?) would lessen the burden elsewhere..??

This is pretty much how I feel. The foos headlining was going to be the highlight of the festival for me. I'm pleased for Florence, she seems like a nice girl and I hope she's well recieved but the music is not really to my tastes.

It would be nice if they have a sub which is in the same genre as the foos at least. Most names suggested on here would be great! Not James though, and yes I have seen them live. I'm very confused for all the love to them!

In a perfect world I'd chose either Stereophonics or Blur. Foals, Strokes, Beck would all be fine too.

Yea it's not my cup of tea either. The reading crowd lap them up tho, the mosh pits were insane. It was probably more that than the actual performance! lol

Just looked at the setlist too. Pretty awesome. Love how they don't fill it with majority of recent stuff but more classics. Would have been gutted to see them for my first time and they don't play Trying Your Luck, but there wouldn't be many complaints from that list!

I like the Bill Bailey suggestion. Would give me a dilemma though, for me the silver lining of Foo's pulling out was that I would get to see Modestep.

Do think people shouldn't get their hopes to high, think under the circumstances the festival is just going to have to accept who they can get. I like the Beck and James suggestions, but I'm not convinced either is realistic

It's because until they know who they can book they don't know how long the slot will be, and hence the timing of it. Ideally they're going to want a band that can do 90 minutes but that's not necessarily going to be possible.

The Strokes absolutely killed it last might in Hyde Park. I kind of forgot how many singalong tunes they have, you can even sing along with the guitar solos.

If they sub Florence, IMO there's no real point her actually playing.

Couldn't they just mirror Saturday's pyramid times. So an hour 15. Slightly extend some sets earlier in the day.

Maybe that sounds easy but isn't really feasible, I dunno?
