Late night taxi from Glastonbury entrance to castle cary?

Any ideas - my friends aren't arriving until Thursday in campervan.

 

I am staying in castle cary Tuesday night in a B n B and am considering doing the same on the Wednesday night until rest of the gang arrive.

 

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of getting a taxi from the festival particularly late at night?

If you go to Gate A and get the 24hr shuttle to the Drop-off point you could then either get on the bus that ferries folks between there and Castle Cary station.....or call a taxi from Mum's Taxi who are based at the station itself.

If you go for the taxi option I'd suggest you call and book one well ahead if you can...numbers etc here...

Cheers for information, I looked at shuttle bus but it stops going back to castle cary at 9pm so too early to be heading back.

 

I will see what taxi firm says thanks.

I have never used them but there is a taxi rank just outside the Gate A coach station - normally a fair few there at night, but not sure if they are ones you can jump in or ones other people have booked

Just need to point out..

If you do use the Shuttle Bus, Castle Cary Station is a decent walk away from Castle Cary village, especially if you've got luggage - depends where exactly the place you're staying is, but you're talking about half an hours walk along largely unlit roads/paths to get to the centre of the village.

To be honest I'd be surprised if anywhere nearby had any rooms left at a sensible price this close to the event.

Cheers all, I have room booked in Castle Cary itself, was quite surprised to find it too. Seems that a lot of taxi companies struggle to be allowed to pick up near the festival but will keep asking.
