pie_and_a_pint
Sorry to talk about going home when we're not there yet! I don't finish my litterpicking shift in John Peel until 12 noon on Monday, so by the time I've got back to Tom's Field, had something to eat, packed up, and walked all the way back to Gate A for (I assume) a big queue for the shuttle and (I assume) a big queue at Castle Cary, I might miss the 15.54 train to Reading. FGW's website suggests there's not another train east to Reading/Paddington for another three hours. Can anyone who's done the train in previous years tell me whether there are 'extra' services that aren't on the timetable, or whether I really do have to wait till nearly 7pm for the next train home?! It would also be interesting to hear people's experiences of getting the train back. Will trains still be rammed by early evening on Monday, or is there an offchance of a seat by that point? (Ugh... it's so much easier to just chuck everything in the car...) Thanks!
incident
Yes, there definitely are usually extra services that don't show on the schedule that just run Castle Cary > Reading > London, but I don't know how late they go. I know that in past yerars the Info Point at the Meeting Place (and presumably the other ones as well) has had the times so it may be worth asking there once you're on site. pie_and_a_pint
Good plan, thanks - I'll speak to the info point when I'm there (or hope that a fellow litterpicker can give me a lift to Reading!)
