...Gain pedestrian access to the worthy view car park?

My wife and I are travelling directly to Glastonbury from Gatwick Airport as we live abroad. As a result, some family are taking all of our camping gear and food/drinks with them to the festival. They are however going to be camping and parked etc inside the Worthy View area. My wife and myself are however camping inside the festival perimeter.

I need some advice about the best place to meet with them as I have been told there is a strict access policy in place for non-worthy view campsite folks gaining access to the area, and looking at the map online its not clear if we can walk to the worthy view car park once we have our wristbands etc?

If anybody has camped in this area before or knows a better place to meet please let us know!

Thanks!

You definitely won't be able to get into the Worthy View site itself, but you could possibly meet them in the car park. However....you've then got to get to one of the main Pedestrian Gates (you won't be able to access Pennard Hill Gate, which is the entrance for WV, without a WV wristband), which are definitely NOT an easy walking distance away.

Unless they'd be prepared to meet you at the airport, I'd be inclined to advise you to ask them to carry your stuff down to Pennard Hill Gate, and you and your wife can meet them the other side i.e. inside the festival site (the gate is at the top of the lane running to the left side of the stone circle, as you look uphill). You can then go off and find yourselves a camping spot.

Either way, you'll be walking a fair bit!

Thanks for your quick reply. This is what I feared! So you are saying that if we are already inside the festival, the only way that we may be able to access the WV car park, is via a pedestrain gate far away, walking around the perimeter fence to get to them? And once we collect our stuff, we have to do that in reverse? We have a trolley inside the festival, just to make things even more difficult!

Or, of course, your suggestion (minus the aid of the trolley for them to get to Pennard Hill Gate!).
