cigarettes at glastonbury

hey all,

 

not long to go now! i was just wondering how much cigarettes are sold for at the festival (by vendors). tight on money this year and want to know whether i would be better off getting them there or before. thanks

I'd bring them with you if you can - they'll be premium prices at the festival so if you're saving cash, bring your own stash!

Last yeah they were 6 or 7 quid I remember thinking not that bad

I have actually found them to be cheaper on site in the past? No idea why mind you.

I bought 12.5g Amber Leaf last time there and it was actually cheaper than my local shop. Plus you get a nice tin

I don't think i have ever not been offered packets of cigarettes at Glastonbury by people wandering around the campsites selling.

Cigs were cheaper on site last year than in tesco.

They're around £7-8 depending on brand. You can sometimes get them in quite handy little tins, too, which stop them getting squashed when dancing!

Can confirm - we usually buy tobacco on site as it's far cheaper than any of or local shops. I believe a tin of the Amber Leaf was £3.50 the last 2 years.

I think they had the clicky pall mall for 7 not the nicest but ok

Last couple of years, they've actually been cheaper than in the shops - and you got the little tins with some of them as well.

I've no idea why that is, hoping its the same this year though.

Yeah they were cheaper on site last year but sold in packs of 18 or 19 in the tins?

Yup, cheaper on site. Not a massive selection but they had B&H in gold, silver and the dual ones which are nice!

If you're fussy about brands then be warned. Normally they only have Camel, Lucky Strikes and B&H. I smoke Marlborough Lights so usually briung my own (then smoke them all and have to buy another pack on site).

I paid less on site than in the shops beforehand. There is a place at the back of West Holts/

I had a revolutionary moment at Glastonbury last year. It just dawned on me that out of all the drugs, tobacco was giving me the least bang for my buck. This from a 30 a day smoker. I must be one of the few people who actually gave up at Glastonbury. Saturday afternoon. Actually looking forward to my first tobacco-free Glasto.

the general kiosks sell them, but theyre expensive -  Im guesing 10-12 quid a pack, but there are a few sponsored kiosks around the place (I think there was one in the common) last year that sell Pall Mall and Amber leaf or maybe lucky strike for cheaper than you can buy in the shops.

Definitely not 10-12 quid, nowhere near it.

Yup, and all kinds of related items. Last year we got a bong, huge (30cm) RAW papers and a few blunt wraps.

Yeah, probably never more than 100 yards from a stall selling grinders and skins.

 

Fags, baccie and cigars are cheaper onsite than at home these days, far cry from previous years where it was ludicrously expensive.  As others have said, they tend to have amber leaf in the tins for as cheap as you'd pay for a regular pack.  Papers and filters, etc are still pricey though.
