Crystal Waters
Hi all, but late joining in today, but went out for a birthdays lunch at 11.30 yesterday and arrived back home at midnight and then made cheese on toast for 5 people before the toddled off home lol. Now just bought a large piece of pork and wondering how to made crackling. Any ideas never done if ! I score the fat with a sharp knife. Try not to go through to the meat. Pat the fat dry with kitchen roll. Rub cooking oil and salt (sea salt seems to work best but not sure why) all over the fat. Put in oven and cook for however long needed for the size of the meat. Best to turn oven up high for 20-30 mins at beginning eg to a out 220C then down to the normal 180C. And don't forget to save some for me. deebeedoobee
Good afternoon. Just been for my first long walk since glasto, was ok once got started but motivation has been a problem. Dee can't you alter the pattern and make a corset like bodice but using a sturdy material and interfacing for structure? Β Well the materials have been bought although I have not received them yet. The bodice is a satin material (ARGHHH) and lined with interfacing Β and a lining fabric (please don't let that be satin too!) So the boning should just sit in channels and not be too much of a pain. The main difficulty is the pattern doesn't fit the girl! as in the size 12 fits the waist but not the bust or hips, the size 16 fits the bust but not the waist and hips and so on so it's going to need to be adjusted rather than just following a pattern without checking. It's also an American pattern which uses different terminology so a little translation work is needed to. Ah well I've not much else to do apart from work and festivals so I'll fit it in somehow. deebeedoobee
Man the lifeboats........man the towels.....ok who upset the weather gods because I have not seen this much w*t stuff in years....our chimney has just leaked! The path along side the house is now submerged half way along. If it comes all the way then our kitchen will be next (kitchen is below street level). Next door's front is below street level and I think the water is probably now filling the hallway. PLEASE stop..There are bow waves every time a car passes the front of the house
Crystal Waters
I have just looked at the webcam. Looks like liquid stuff of biblical proportions. Hope it stops soon.

Quark
Pork crackling.............. yum yum nom nom Found an awesome pub. At least 15 different beers and ciders, never heard of any of them before. Slow roasted pork belly with crackling, local cheese board with elderberry port. Considerably heavier and less sober than I was a few hours ago! And in keeping with the thread, surely punishment would be sitting in the corner andthinking about what you've done? Altogether now "we're not angry, just disappointed" Edited July 12, 2015 by Quark

lucyginger
Dee that sounds frightening! Have you got sandbags and things? You can't sew under those conditions! As for the dress, sounds like a right pain but I'm sure you'll be ok. Fingers crossed the fabric is ok when it arrives! Eek!

Glastosmile15
Hello This looks like a thread to join in with. A bit late but hope that's ok. I must say I often don't post as don't want to be involved in arguments so often just read threads but this is a nice friendly thread. Now I am off to buy a new more comfortable bike saddle so I can ride my bike without fear of injury Hellooooo!
