I don't think it's that strange a booking tbh. Sure, I wouldn't have expected them but as dentalplan said T always have these type of bookings and I'm sure they'll get a reasonable sized crowd.

Crowie explained to me his thoughts, I have no reason not to believe him, that doesn't mean I won't be shocked if it happens, time will tell KC

I won't be watching RHCP if it is them, but it will look better for the festival if they book them rather than say Calvin and Biffy Clyro. Calvin will probably be there, but it would be an absolute joke if both of them returned so quickly and took two of the headline slots. They should put Chemical Brothers on the Saturday R1 slot against Calvin on the main stage. Separate the men from the boys.

RHCP will be there 100% over Biffy Clyro, I'm defo on board with that. If it is them then the exclusive information on this website, not the official one is wrong.

I see RHCP are now a SR. Is this down to further information with some substance rather than a couple of people claiming it is them, or have they provided some convincing information?

LCD Soundsystem would be a good booking as well. I just want a rumour of some substance of New Order and Chemical Brothers really!

I see New Order announced a Castlefield Bowl gig for the 9th July, I suppose that makes them slightly more likely to play the Sunday as I'm guessing they'll be playing Bilbao BBK on the Thursday.

Ah I didn't see that. Puts them in the country for T weekend then so hopefully!

They would have said UK exclusive on the website if it was that.

Headliners

Fri - Roses, Disclosure, ?

Sat - Calvin, LCD Soundsystem, Primal Scream

Sunday - RHCP, Chemical Brothers, New Order.

Realistic?

Where would Disclosure play on main stage though with them expected headliners? I wouldnt say Chems are all that likely so Steve Angello could be one of the R1 headliners either way. New Order would obviously headline KT and you would think Primal Scream will be there and will probably do KT, unless they had them under Roses like what happened with them under Stones at Glastonbury.

Underworld could be a shout for King Tuts headliner or possible Slam headliner, they seem to be getting announced for a lot of European festivals this year. Chemical Brothers just announced as SW4 headliners too so I'd be very disappointed in T if they missed out on the Chems 2 years on the trot as they won't be around for much longer.. if LCD and New Order get announced as well as those 2 then it could be a very decent year for good electronic acts. Not gonna get my hopes up though.

Yeah i'm sure there was a tweet from deadmau5 saying it didn't work logistically last year but would be up for playing in the future,

The SR, RHCP and Calvin line up would be perfect for 'a bit of everything' in terms of headliners: you'll get your bams along for CH, your mainstream rock fans for RHCP and it's the only SR Scottish date atm for their fans. If this is the line up I personally think slightly more tickets will be sold than in the last few years. Please note, I don't think it will sell out!

Mainstream rock fans gave up on T and the Chilis years ago. They'll get a disappointing crowd and will probably produce a performance to match it. They might shift some day tickets but I can't see anyone going for the weekend to see them when there will be nothing similar to watch for the weekend. I enjoyed them in 2006 but I seemed to be in the minority, I'd like to see them again but they're not enough on their own to get me to shell out £200.

Although I'm not a fan of RHCP, at least they are booking someone slightly unexpected for T these days. It's been 10 years since they last played now. It gives the festival a bit more respectability to me than them booking The Killers, Kings Of Leon, Mumford & Sons, Biffy Clyro or one of the other expected headliners again. I will certainly not be seeing them, but at least they've slightly shaken it up a bit. If I had seen Stone Roses and RHCP at the top of a bill this summer I would have guessed it was an Isle Of Wight lineup, or possibly Reading.

Only shows Arcade Fire are doing this year. Would have loved it to have been them. It's probably just now a case of who plays below Calvin on the Saturday for the big 4 slots.

Has it been confirmed anywhere that the resident bore is definetly playing?
